I've been eating at El Indio since the 90's and have never a had a complaint until now. For the past 20 years we've been eating at the El Indio on 34th Street. Tonight my wife came home in tears because of the way she was treated after the staff screwed up our order. They gave her someone else's order twice. A customer behind my wife apparently became frustrated because of the wait time and he proceeds to get out of his truck, walk up to my wife's window and yells at my wife to stop being rude, which she wasn't. The kid inside the window handing out food must've heard the random guy yelling at her and he decides to berate my wife and tells her if she keeps being disrespectful she wouldn't get anything. All she did was tell the kid that he gave her the wrong order TWICE! WHO DOES THAT?!? My wife was flustered and scared because of that customer obviously, but seriously who does that? The kid in the window needs to learn some manners and needs a serious attitude adjustment. My wife will never go back to El Indio again I guarantee it. People are nuts these days, the last thing any woman needs or anyone in general is some crazy person coming up to their window in a drive thru at night and yelling at them and then having the worker inside also yelling at them is just unbelievable to me. The food is always good but with how long it took tonight everything was cold and soggy. All because they gave her the wrong order TWICE! Even if she was irritated after getting the wrong food twice does she deserve to be berated by the kid that hands out food and other customers in line waiting. Hell no! The bad part is she was just sitting there patiently. I think she was wating for 30 minutes which for El Indio is a long time. If we do ever go back maybe I'll...
Read moreMy family and I pick up food from El Indio Mexican Restaurant on 34th Street at least twice a week. I'm not sure if both locations are owned by the same family, but the one on 34th has lost my business for good after today.
I ordered food for my three kids and my spouse. My spouse’s food was excellent, and my daughter’s quesadilla and fries were amazing. However, the kids' burritos—now priced at $8.48 each (screenshot attached)—were disappointing. When I brought the food home and opened it, the kids' burritos were half the size they normally are.
Last Thursday, we noticed the burritos were smaller too, but we didn’t say anything, assuming a different person was in the kitchen that day. When it happened again today, I drove back to the store and showed the manager. She said that the burrito size is “normal” and there was nothing she could do.
I asked if they could remake the food, especially since an employee had placed her hand directly on one of the burritos while showing it to the manager. The manager refused. I then asked for a refund and was told no.
I told her she had lost me as a customer. After years of being a loyal patron, I’m extremely disappointed in the service and the lack of...
Read moreThis little hidden gem is amazing!! There are two locations in gainesville. We got some takeout from the 34 Street location. Line moved very fast through the drive thru, Even with it being dinner time. Everything is reasonably priced there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we ordered at the order window, We then had to drive around to the other side of the building, to pick up our food at the pick up window, and they were just as friendly. We don't live far from there, so the food was still nice and hot when we got home very tasty. My wife got a chocolate malt. That was so thick as you can see in the photo. If you're looking for authentic mexican food and don't want to sit in a restaurant and want to take it and just go home. This is the place for you.!!!The other location is located on 13th street.By the university of florida. But I can only speak on the service. And food from this location. They have recently painted the outside of the building, bringing a really cool artistic vibe to the atmosphere of...
