Chef Ngee Kitchen — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

From reading other reviews, it seems this is a recurring issue that has not yet been addressed.

This was my first visit, and I was genuinely excited because my past experiences with African cuisine have always been very positive. I was initially told my order would take 20–25 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 40 minutes. While the staff was apologetic and courteous about the delay, which I appreciated, the real disappointment came when I received my food.

When I opened my order at home, I was shocked by the portion sizes. Although the bag felt heavy and appeared to hold a generous amount of food, the container was overwhelmingly filled with rice and only two small pieces of meat. My wife’s order was very similar, except hers was mostly spinach with just two small pieces of meat as well.

I find it very difficult to justify paying nearly $20 for what essentially amounts to a box of rice or spinach with barely any protein. While I want to commend the staff for their kindness, the portion-to-price ratio is unacceptable and leaves customers feeling misled.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the hospitality was warm, but the quality and value of the food did not meet...

Exceptionally clean restaurant with friendly staff and service. I loved the drive-through concept. I actually observed two customers get their food through the drive-through serve while I was there. Try the jollof if you are not sure what to get. Bathrooms were pleasantly clean and there is more than enough parking for you and your party. Icing on the cake? Decided to try something there today.. Ordered suya and I must say I was very disappointed. I paid $15+ for a small bowl only to realize at home they used veggies as a layer and put meat over it.
