If you know, you know! Great Vibes Barbershop is a true gem in our backyard! Marieli is a loctician whose hands are touched by the Divine. She is thoughtful, kind and extremely talented! Be ready for a true transformation that goes much further than just your hair needs. She has taken my loc journey to a new level with healthy styles and lasting retwists. When you are in her chair, you are her one and only priority. The scheduling is what we all wish to have as clients - one at a time and never overbooked. I never wait, and never feel rushed to get through the appointment. Marieli takes her time to get to know my hair goals and knocks it out of the park each and every time with my crazy style requests. She’s an amazing stylist and human!

My 6 y/o son, who has had not so great experiences in barbershops in the past, has been terrified of getting his hair cut for months. We were on the hunt for a talented barber who centered children, managed his time and ours well and could grow with our son over the years (a unicorn, I know). The first appt Jay welcomed him in with a huge TV and Super Mario Bros playing just for him. Again, we were the only clients booked for just our time, which was relieving as a mom who just needed to slow things down for my little guy and work through his fears. Jay was sent by an angel just for us. By the end of his appointment, not only was his line up fresh (which he had never gotten done without full blown tears until Jay), but he had my son laughing and smiling. Now, I get asked every week if he can “go to see Mr. Jay”… what a relief.

It’s a family friendly atmosphere that doesn’t feel like your typical barbershop. This is truly a place where you get what you pay for - with refreshments, warm towels and scalp treatments that are a baseline. They are taking things up a notch in Gaithersburg! I’m so glad I found this wonderful business - our entire family will be loyal and lasting clients. Just to clarify, if I could accurately set the stars to how I'd want it, my rating would be closer to a 4.5. With that being said, I got a my haircut on Juneteenth for $45 plus tip. First off, the shop is incredibly put together; a smart tv for entertainment, a mini fridge for drinks, and even pretzel snacks. The barbershop is also incredibly clean, so I can tell this place is cared for and designed for customer satisfaction.

Next, the haircut. When I saw the price, I thought to myself "this better be worth it," and it was! The barber followed what I wanted to a T, giving me an incredible line up and trim without any of the modern enhancements you see today with the black spray. He works with efficiency and precision, giving me the best bang for my buck.

With that being said, I would've taken a half star off because he came in late, and I had a Juneteenth celebration to set up. Admittedly, the cause was out of his control and I understood why he was late, but it did impact my first time cut with the Master Barber.

Despite this, he did an incredible job and I had an engaging conversation with the barber on site. While a bit pricey, the amenities and quality service...

I was looking for a barber that could help me turn my balding hair into something nice looking. I didn't know really what my options were my hair line is extremely receded. I came to Jay with a few ideas and Jay is so friendly. How friendly? After first meeting Jay in a matter of seconds it felt like I was meeting a lifelong friend. After a brief consultation Jay helped me determine options that fit my hair situation/type. Jay executed the haircut flawlessly with ease while maintaining friendly conversation. At no time did I feel uncomfortable or awkward; it was a nice change for me. Usually my experience during a haircut is awkward and rush out the door. Jay completed the haircut right on time we had an hour and he used every last minute to perfect the cut and it exceeded my expectations ten fold. I definitely recommend Jay and Great Vibes Barbershop. Even the Gentlemen who left before my appointment had great looking hair.
