Pho Nom Nom Gaithersburg — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

I used to go to that place many times and honestly, I liked the food and the service. But one day, I had a weird experience because one of the soups I ordered came with a baguette on the side. The second time I went, I ordered the same soup, but they didn't bring the bread. I asked about it, and they told me that the bread was only for egg noodles and not for rice noodles. I thought that was strange since I got the bread the last time with rice noodles in my soup. I decided to ignore the issue and finish my meal so I could leave. At that moment, three people came over to explain that the bread was for egg noodles and not for rice noodles. I said okay, no problem, I had already let it go. After a while, another person came over, trying to explain, and then another. It was a little bit too much at that point. I finished my meal and paid my bill, and when I was paying, another staff member started explaining the same thing. By that point, I had already let it go. It was such a fuss, that the owner noticed, came out of the place, and followed me to ask what had happened. I explained what happened but told him it didn't matter, it was a non-issue. He told me that the baguette had nothing to do with the type of noodles; it was part of the dish. He apologized, which I appreciated, and offered us a free dinner for the next time. I never wanted to take him up on it. Honestly.

But last night, when I went to eat, a lot of flies started coming in and landed on my table—the table they had assigned to me. When the guy came to clear the dishes, I told him that the flies were bothering me, and he got angry and rudely said, 'What do you want me to do? It's not my fault people come in and open the door!' He was mad. I decided not to say anything. Then he said, 'Can you come pay?' I thought, of course, I’m not going to leave without paying. I went to the counter, paid my bill, and then left without saying anything, just a simple 'thank you.' I will never go back to this place. I don't know if this guy was having a bad day, but I didn’t like the way he spoke to me. It's time to move on and...

I have been coming to this restaurant since October 2024. I really enjoyed the food and everything about this place. However, it has gone downhill. I went to sit down yesterday and the amount of Fruit flies or flies of some sort surrounding our table Was extremely displeasing and distasteful I had to keep swatting the flies to get away from our food and they were crawling in our toppings and around the bottles. I also have seen a specific employee, constantly cough and touch his nose while serving our food and while sitting in the dining area I think that this is a sanitation issue and this place should be inspected. There was also a foul smell when we walked into the restaurant and it smelled like sweat or musty water not sure but I also heard other customers complain about it that we’re sitting behind us. I’m not sure if they’re trained on sanitation or how to properly show cleanliness but I think this is unacceptable. Like I said, I’ve been coming here for almost a year now and the past month or two it has gone downhill I hope fix these issues because the food is good but when you have all of that going on while you’re trying to eat, it just makes you not wanna come back. I only have good things to say about this place!

Let's start with the pho – absolutely fantastic. The broth was rich and aromatic, clearly simmered for hours to develop that deep, satisfying flavor. Adding a squeeze of fresh lime, a few sprigs of basil, and a touch of their garlic chili sauce really elevated it to another level. I appreciated the different size options. The spring rolls were another winner. Perfectly crispy and light, with a filling of fresh, vibrant vegetables. You could taste the quality of the ingredients.

The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and inviting. The layout has a good mix of seating options to accommodate different groups.

There's a cute robot server that brings the dishes to the table, and we had a laugh over it saying that something was blocking its way, and that it would lose its job if the food wasn't brought to the table soon. The (human) service overall was prompt and efficient, just what I want at a pho restaurant.

Overall, this restaurant is a gem. The food is top-notch, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the service is on point. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and comforting bowl of pho.
