Corner Subs & Pizza is a true hidden gem in Gaithersburg. Located by the popular Bruster’s ice cream in the Gaithersburg Center shopping center. They are literally in the corner of the shopping center which is how they probably got their name. They have a diverse menu with amazing delicious food at great prices. Their pizza is great, loaded with cheese even if you don’t get extra cheese. I personally love the Brooklyn Pie which comes with a gourmet cheese blend. You can’t beat the amount of food you get here at their prices. It’s rare to find such good prices, such large portions and such high quality food. The tuna sub (pictured) is the best in the area. It’s stuffed with deliciously made tuna salad. For $14.99 you get not one but two 12 inch subs even though it’s listed at 8 inches a piece on the menu, it’s really a whopping 12 inches so 24 inches of sub for only $14.99. Their tuna sub is much higher quality and much more tuna than Subway as well. It’s an even better tuna sub than Jimmy John’s. They also have a couple of Ceylon (Sri Lankan) dishes which is rare to find even in the food diverse Montgomery County. Their Deviled Chicken (pictured) is simply amazing. It’s cut up bone in chicken cooked in a slightly sweet tomato based sauce spiced up with delicious Sri Lankan spices with green pepper, onions and tomato slices. You can get mild or spicy, personally I love the spicy. They also have Ceylon Fried Rice which is like a higher quality Chinese fried rice. Ceylon food definitely has a Indian and a Chinese influence on it. It’s unique and good. The customer service here is also out of this world. HIDDEN GEM: So refreshing to find a family-run business to patronize instead of mundane, over-priced, chain establishments. Visited out of curiosity after seeing several great reviews, and gladly contributing here as reinforcement after great meal experiences ourselves. Cheesesteak subs are delicious and filling, and the Ceylon fried rice is a tasty alternative to traditional versions. This is a comfortable dining room, clean and well-maintained shop, with ample parking and accessibility, and the owner/operator could not be more gracious and helpful; his cooking skills being obvious as you watch him work the griddle or wok.
