After landing from Minneapolis from seeing his mother for the holiday weekend,
My husband met me and his fellow coworker of several years and Wife Sunday night around 8 PM.
The bartender was super friendly with Jared and Karen, who frequent the location however, it was my first and last time, as I was obviously judged by the server behind the bar because thatâs what young women do when they donât realize the woman in front of them is 55 years old as we were all in our 50âs sitting together. We ordered drinks, then Once my husband arrived who was very hungry after the trip, Ordered burnt ends, and the lady was not very friendly to him like with the couple that brought us that brags about this place for us to have drinks.
She stood there, just staring at me and him like we were going to hold up the joint đ¤Łmind you Iâm African-American and my husband is Caucasian,
The food was cold. It was barely warm due to the condition of the meat as you can tell was cold because the fat on the burnt ends was still fatty and white. It wasnât even crisp at all. It literally look like they just pulled it out of the refrigerator and put the food on the plate as they were cleaning while we were having drinks I asked the young lady for a banana pudding to go and it literally came in a little cup like you would put barbecue sauce in andâs took several minutes to give to us.
This is about a teachable moment, I am All about letting servers see how they are perceived by customers, and the looks on their faces speaks volumes over what comes out of their mouth
Judgment will make you lose every time, and although my husband is still very kind to leave a decent tip, we will not go back.
I will make sure that will never happen. Myself and the couple had just left an upscale restaurant, Halâs steakhouse With impeccable non-judging service just to be slapped in the face with a local suburban restaurant who uses judgment to negate their customer service on how they treat their customers
No one pays you to judge when you work in a restaurant they pay for service and food and if youâre lacking in either or both departments, you get no more service from us. No love loss from you guys. Iâm sure you donât care and neither do I. itâs just not good to have a bad service and my husband literally choked on the piece of fatty meat that he was given so if the woman was wondering why my husband was shaking his head and got up and left it was because he was gagging, it was stuck in his throat because it was too cold
It would be nice for Manager to call me, but Iâm sure theyâre not gonna see this review in enough time so I will be calling today, Monday, 12 May to speak to a manager in regards to this negligent...
Read moreUpdate: I had been in contact with the owners, who very kindly gave me a gift card to give them a 2nd chance. Tonight I went back and ordered pulled pork bbq for everyone. The pork and all the sides were absolutely outstanding as they were the first time. I did ask for a sample of brisket. I was afraid to order it given what it was the fist time. The sample of brisket I had was really good. The flat and point pieces had a good flop, fat was rendered and cartilage was broken down, and had a good smoke flavor. I declare this place redeemed in my book and weâll be making it a regular go to place.
I really hate to write this up, but bad food backed up by bad service after spending $130 and even tipping has to be addressed. I received the brisket shown below on my brisket platter. It was tasteless, chewy, tough, fat wasnât broken down, and flat out rubbery. My daughterâs brisket sandwich was the same. I brought this to the attention of the manager who proceeded to tell me I didnât know good brisket. She even asked where I was from, like that had anything to do with being served bad brisket. I have smoked briskets for over 10 yrs, and if itâs over an actual wood fire you would have a smoke ring and the fat and collagen would be completely broken down. I said maybe this was a bad batch or wasnât cooked right, and she proceeded to keep repeating how it was smoked for 12 hrs. No way this was smoked for 12 hours and the fat didnât break down. I can list a number of ways a brisket can turn out like this, but Iâve eaten brisket in TX, NC, St. Louis, Kansas City, and countless other places and this was the worst brisket ever. The managerâs poor response didnât make it any better, she brought me a 2nd plate of the same sorry brisket. I refused both and ended up with the pulled pork which was way better. The customer behind us even came up after and said her brisket was bad too and that itâs not normally like that, and also couldnât believe how the manager responded. Lucky me I guess. Everything else we ordered was great, but bad brisket and a managerâs bad attitude earned this 1 star review. I posted a photo of what a brisket should look like. That was done over oak, mesquite, and hickory using TX fast competition style, and yes mine is way better than what I was...
Read moreUPDATE: Emailed the GM Kojo on Dec. 10 as they requested. It is now January 25 and I have not received any response to my email. Since that is the only remedy they are offering in response to reviews, I figured I would update everyone on how well that is working⌠(original review below)
A take-out fail last night from Edleyâs. I have been to the east Nashville location many times and was skeptical when they were opening one in my neck of the woods. These new restaurants always seem to suck once they start expanding, and this appears to be the latest example. Placed the order through their website which is through doordash. Received email/text confirmation and my card was charged. I arrive at the pickup time and it was not ready, which is no big deal.
After about 20 minutes of waiting, they finally realized that my order was nowhere to be found in their system. The same thing happened to another gentleman who arrived just before me. They then told us our food would not be âfiringâ for another 40 minutes. I was confused why they could not go into the kitchen and simply ask them to make our orders faster given the amount of time we waited.
There was no follow-up communication about when our food would be ready. The only comments were related to the âsystemâ being âcrazyâ and how âit seems like something breaks every day.â Do with that information what you will.
So we sat and waited for another 30 minutes while the manager spoke on the phone with someone about their system issues (presumably Mr. Edley himself). The manager was extremely rattled and ultimately passed my food off to me without eye contact or an apology after waiting for an hour. It was as if I had inconvenienced them.
To top it off, I get home and we are missing two sides. Had to go back to get them. No discount/refund, no free food, nothing at all - after waiting over an hour and still having to make a trip back. Needless to say it will be a while before I try...
