AlTayeb Restaurant, is a true local treasure, offering an authentic and incredibly satisfying journey into Lebanese cuisine. This isn't just a meal; it's an experience that feels like stepping into a beloved Middle Eastern home kitchen, brimming with warmth, flavor, and generous hospitality. Exquisite Authenticity The food at AlTayeb is simply superb. Every dish we tried was a testament to fresh ingredients and time-honored recipes. The hummus is a revelation – perfectly creamy, with just the right balance of tahini and lemon, and incredibly fresh. Their Foul (fava beans) is legendary, deeply flavorful and comforting, especially when topped with the fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil. We also indulged in the Falafel, which were wonderfully crispy on the outside and tender within, without being greasy. The accompanying pickles and fresh vegetables are crisp and bright, cutting through the richness of the main dishes perfectly. For meat lovers, the chunk meat hummus is a must-try; the tender, flavorful beef melts in your mouth. You can taste the genuine care and dedication that goes into each preparation, leaving you with a profound sense of culinary satisfaction. Generous and Abundant one of the most remarkable aspects of AlTayeb is the sheer generosity of their portions. Every plate arrives laden with food, promising a hearty and fulfilling meal. We ordered a selection of their breakfast dishes, and found ourselves with more than enough to share, even for a table of hungry diners. It's clear that AlTayeb believes in abundance, ensuring you leave feeling completely satisfied and often with delicious leftovers to enjoy later. This makes it an incredible value for the quality and quantity provided. Warm, Attentive, and Genuine The service at AlTayeb is truly a highlight. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and a welcoming smile. The staff are incredibly attentive, anticipating needs without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and ensured our table was well-stocked with their fresh, house-baked pita bread. Despite the restaurant often being bustling, especially during peak hours, the service remains efficient and personalized, making you feel like a valued guest. It's the kind of service that speaks of a family-run establishment where hospitality is paramount. In conclusion, AlTayeb Restaurant in Garden City is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic, delicious, and generously portioned Lebanese cuisine. With its exquisite flavors, abundant servings, and genuinely warm service, it's a culinary destination that truly embodies the spirit of Middle Eastern hospitality. We left feeling...
Read moreI've heard about AlTayeb for years. Finally decided to try it with family members for the first time a few weeks ago. I was absolutely impressed and this restaurant exceeded my expectations. I went back a few more times that same week because I was already craving their food. I live an hour away and the drive each time was absolutely worth it. If I lived close to this restaurant, I would be having breakfast here every morning before work.
Food: The food is fresh, flavorful, and has good quality. The taste immediately transformed me back to when I was living in the Middle East. There is a large variety of hummus and foul dishes as well as egg dishes and appetizers. Everything looks like it was made freshly and they are very generous with their portions.
Service: Every time I went, our server was Sarah. Sarah made the experience even better with her patience, hospitality, and kindness. She did a good job with explaining to us the dishes/ingredients we did not understand. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy and packed during our visit, the service was super quick and the food was served quickly as well.
Location/Atmosphere: The atmosphere is great at AlTayeb. It was a welcoming place overall. It feels like your typical local restaurant in the Middle East with mostly families dining. The atmosphere is so welcoming, you can clearly tell everyone had a great time. The only thing to note is that because the restaurant is packed during peak hours, seats inside the restaurant are taken up quickly and the parking lot was packed. We had to park our cars in the nearby residential streets along with many other cars and we walked to the restaurant. This was not a big deal for my family and friends but may be important to note for elderly, little kids, and those who experience difficulty with walking/mobility.
The entire experience was 10/10. Overall, I highly recommend AlTayeb for great, authentic, and fresh Middle...
Read more"Al Tayeb" roughly translates into "The Delicious" in English, and that would be an accurate name for this restaurant.
Outstanding service, and everything was plated with much attention to detail.
Let's just come right out and say it, AlTayeb has the BEST Falafel in the area, bar none. Even if you don't generally like falafel, you should try it here and let it become one of your favorites.
A broad in the parking lot was fumbling for her keys, when her bag tore open, and a falafel escaped, rolling a few feet. She instantly scrambled to pick it up. She looked up and saw that I had seen what she had done; and said "Normally I would never pick food off the ground, but these are so good!". I uncomfortably laughed, but that does tell you something about these falafel.
Another good dish is the Labneh and Zaatar. Picture a fresh soft cheese (maybe halfway between yogurt and cream cheese), with a pile of spices on top. Fresh, simple, delicious.
If you are there for breakfast, you can't beat the Eggs & Sujuk. A big plate of scrambled eggs and finely ground sausage .
Coffee was great, although the day we visited, they only offered CoffeeMate rather than Cream
Aug 6 update: tried the Tabuli ( never noticed it on the menu). Really good. Maybe the best in the area.
June 2023 update: tried Fatoosh salad. Big fried pita chips and coarsely chopped tomatoes and purple cabbage. Very good.
April 2024 update: tried their Baba Ganoush, the best I've ever had!
September 2022 update: Tried the Spicy Potatos. Really good. Fried with cilantro, butter, little garlic,...
