I have been patiently waiting for this joint to open as soon as I saw the Big Bun sign on the old Carl's Jr building. I finally got the chance to check it out today! Walking in, the venue is so clean and bright! I love the orange everywhere, the pictures of the original/current location and all the seating. They did such a great job remodeling and turning it into their special space.

We were greeted by a beautiful smile. The young gal who took our order today was patient and kind. She let us check out the menu without rushing us. We put in our order and got comfortable at a table.

My father in law ordered a vanilla shake. I grabbed a regular lemonade. My father in law said his shake was perfect! Extra thick, creamy and sweet! I very much enjoyed my lemonade. It was tart and sweet, so good!

Our food was called and handed to us. Everything was nicely placed in the bag! Nothing was tipped over or leaking. I appreciate that!

I grabbed the double today! Boy was it thick! The patties are perfectly cooked. My burger was hot off the grill. Just the right amount of lettuce and sauce. I couldn't finish it, i was only able to eat half. The sweet potato fries were good! They were passed the "golden" fried and were a little bitter from being overcooked but I honestly didn't mind it. Dip that baby into the fry sauce and it was all good!

My husband and I did go to the original location a couple months ago and to be honest, the customer service here was top notch! Everyone was so kind! I loved that they smiled when they are interacting with you. I also loved seeing all the kids working! What a great first job. Working at a fun, local burger joint to start fantastic work ethics.

If you're looking for a great burger with great customer service and a fun vibe, Big Bun is definitely the spot to hit up! I look forward to coming back and...

I'm going to go back & reassess after they've been open a while. This will tell me if they keep up the great work! They were relatively fast for as busy as they were. The staff was kind & worked well together. They were a bit nervous. That will all streamline with time. We were there at 5p today, & what looked like a huge crowd was taken care of efficiently without fuss, or yelling. The place is clean and WARM! Each time I ate there as a Carl's, it was freezing. The tater tots were amazing, and so was the ranch. The burgers could use a bit more sauce, but they were cooked great and tasted fresh. I paid extra for tomatoes, got little tiny nub ends from the bottom of 3 tomatoes. They were smaller than pickles! I chalk this up to kids being new, not a sign of the future. My child ordered the guac burger & loved it. The experience was great. The food was mostly what we have come to love of the original Big Bun. The huckleberry milkshakes were awesome! Even the non-dairy was tasty. Try them! They have a gluten-free bun option if you need it. Possibly asking for a name earlier in the process so you can hand it off faster, as there were kids waiting for the cashier to hand over the cups until the transaction was done when he could have handed them off to be made while it was going (not a big deal at all). I recommend everyone to go! If it tastes this great to start, it will only get better from here. I'm so excited to have a Big Bun so close to us. This will be a regular place in the future. Great work! We got 2 shakes a meal & a 3 burgers & it was only $53 with tip. That's good for a family of...

They fixed my order and it was fantastic as usual. Big bun usually rocks and the shake and food was some of the best ive had. Definitely a 1 off.

Edited 7/10. This was a doordash order, however I do not believe it was an issue with doordash. Let me preface I've never been to this big bun but Ive been to the overland one a bunch and never had issues. The driver was at my work in like 8 minutes so it wasn't that.

I got 3 things on Sunday 6/22. a chocolate Oreo milkshake, a guac burger, and chicken strips.

The chicken strips were hard as a rock and hot, so definitely heat warmered to death or something, I don't know. I couldn't even bite into it, so those went into the trash.

The burger was ok, but didn't have any toppings. It did have good guac, but really nothing else but that and lettuce. It was super, super dry.

The milkshake was an atrocity, filled with so much chocolate syrup at the bottom I actually wondered if the person who made it was quitting that Day. actually like 1/4 inch of chocolate syrup. couldnt even taste the rest of the milkshake, just Hershey's flavor. It ruined the whole thing :(

I don't know what happened here but it wasn't great. I wish I had taken a picture to post of the milkshake, but I threw it all away and clocked back in from lunch. There was chocolate syrup smeared all over the lid too. It was obvious someone dumped way, way too much in it. That should never have gone out like that. I like chocolate, but geez.

You can check my profile, I don't just leave bad reviews for nothing, but...

First time in a Big Bun. I'm gonna chalk up my experience to it being a new location and the trials of getting things up and running and getting a workforce rhythm set. Not excited about the pricing. Seems a little overpriced for what we're getting. 30 bucks for a fingersteaks meal and #1 meal is pretty steep. The Hit List right across the parking lot serves up larger meals for the same price. I added the images of what we got for reference. My kid got 5 really small pieces for Finger Steaks. I would expect a bit more for it being close to $14. He said they tasted fine. My double pattie 1/2 lb burger tasted fine, nothing amazing. It was around $13. I suspect the ingredients are better than say McDonald's or Burger King, but you'd have a hard time convincing me of that if it was blind test. For me, it was a run of the mill experience taste wise. So, it's not terrible, but not mind-blowing. Which is sad because burgers cooked on the spot should taste better. It's just hard to pay that kind of money when eggs are $30 for 5 dozen. The wait was long. Went inside. Spent about 35 minutes in there. Our order was wrong the first time. Then we had to wait for my order. Received my bag and thought it was a little light. Got to my car as I needed to get back to work. Checked and was missing my fry. Again, I'll chalk it up to it being a new location, but it still wasn't stellar. I'm all for options, but for the price and quality, you might do better at one of the other local spots like Bad Boy or Hit List

The new Big Bun Drive-In in Garden City is a total triumph! Fresh off its grand opening on Glenwood Street, this second location brings everything we’ve adored about the original Boise spot for over 70 years—juicy burgers, creamy shakes, and that unbeatable retro vibe. Our family couldn’t wait to check it out, and wow, they’ve knocked it out of the park! The quality is just as phenomenal as the Overland location—those quarter-pound patties are still fresh from Northwest ranches, perfectly grilled, and piled high with toppings. We devoured the Tom Burger and some finger steaks, and the 50 shake flavors? Heaven in a cup! The remodel of the old Carl’s Jr. space is genius—modern yet nostalgic with garage doors opening to a cozy indoor-outdoor patio. The staff was buzzing with energy, and even with a packed drive-thru, service was quick and friendly. Our kids are already begging to go back, and honestly, so are we! Big Bun has seamlessly expanded while keeping its soul intact. Garden City just scored a gem—five stars for this delicious new chapter!

I tried Big Bun Drive-in since I had heard it was new to Garden City and that their burgers were good. I ordered the #2 Bacon Cheeseburger Combo Meal. I chose to try the tots as my side and the meal came with a drink. The burger was flavorful and decent sized, larger than most fast food franchises. The portion of tots was generous. The drive thru had a line around 1140 am, but it moved quickly. I found the restaurant staff to be cheerful and very efficient. If I have a craving for fast food I'll definitely head back to Big Bun Drive-in. Tip: Definitely check out the menu online since Big Bun Drive-in has a variety of great option and they can't all fit on the drive thru menu!!!!
