This was probably the worst experience I've ever had with a local restaurant. I tried to reserve a table for 13 people, only to be told that they will only take reservations for a minimum of 10 people, and there has to be a minimum of $30 spent per person. (They actually said $30 in revenue per person - that's how they phrased it to me - the inquiring customer) Needless to say, I'm not wanting to guarantee that I'll spend $390 for a 10 year olds birthday party, so instead I decided I'd just go to the restaurant an hour before I was meeting my party. This should be plenty of time for a table to open up. I show up, tell them how many people are coming and what time is expecting them. They say no problem, give us 45 minutes to an hour. Sounds perfect. Exactly 2 hours later, they tell us a table just paid and will be open soon. I would have left by now, but I'd already spent $60 in games to keep bored kids at bay, so I gathered everyone up, we went to our table and waited another half hour for our order to be taken. Another 30 minutes pass, we eat the sub-par food, and I tell the hostess it's my son's birthday, she said they'll bring out a brownie Sunday for him as a surprise. At least there's that I suppose. Another 20 minutes go by, our waiter comes out and walks right by our table blurting out "his birthday brownie is on its way".... Thanks for ruining that surprise pal. More time passes, the kids get tired of waiting again, we dismiss them to go play while we clean up, and finally they bring out the brownie to an empty table. At this point, we pay the bill (well under $300 mind you), and ask for a to go box for the remaining food and brownie. I box everything up, and start to carry it out to the car with the presents, and I dropped one of my to go boxes right at the hostess desk (nothing spilled, just dropped it), and no less than 4 employees stood there watching me attempt to gather everything back together. In fact, another customer held the door for me to help, since none of the employees could be bothered to even ask if I needed help.
All in all, I'm glad my extended family was there with me during this visit, because it saves me the trouble of having to explain how terrible it was, and why none of them should ever bother going.
I'd like to say the only semi-redeeming part of the whole experience, was a $3 jack and coke, but it was served with a lime, which was weird as it was, but it made sense once I tasted how watered down the drink actually was. So the lime was just to give some sort of flavor I assume.
Definitely never...
Read moreI'm not the type to leave negative reviews, but I wanted to recount my experience at Dave and Busters this weekend not to degrade the service but to help them be better. We went this Saturday in the evening and the place was busy as I expected it would be. It's Veteran's day and a weekend, so its going to be busy. We played some games and stopped at the bar top to grab some drinks and food. The bartop was about half empty with most people grabbing drinks and leaving. We sat down, took a look at the drink menu and waited. After about 5 minutes we had not been acknowledged yet. It was busy, they had around 5 people behind the bar. After another 5 minutes I thought, maybe the bartender that had our section was taking a break. What appeared to be a manager came up and helped the people next to us who arrived 5 minutes after us. No big deal, she wasn't there when we arrived so she didn't see who got there first. The customer orders 3 sets of drinks and shots, tabs out and leaves. I figure we are up next. The manager walks away. I was amazed at that point that we had even not been acknowledged. Several staff members looked at us, but avoided eye contact. I get it, not your section not your problem. But to be blatantly ignored by staff was a first for me. We were only helped around 15 minutes in after another customer across the bar got the attention of the staff member working his section and pointed to us, mentioning that we had not been helped yet. The staff member who helped us initially came off as annoyed by her tone of voice and body language. She did soften up throughout the encounter. We ordered our 2 drinks and passed the favor along by mentioning that the gentleman next to us (who sat down a few minutes prior) also would like to place an order. Altogether, we did have fun in the arcade. There were about 5 big games that were broken which seemed strange to me. The drinks were good. The customer service just was lacking. I think the encounter would've been way different if we had been acknowledged with a quick "we'll be with...
Read moreOur favorite spot to stop for lunch when we are in the Boise area. The food is always delicious and on point. The atmosphere is amazing. The games are so much fun. Makes me feel like a kid again. Staff is super friendly. We like bringing our relatives from out of town and they also love it. Overall, Dave and Busters will always be a favorite.
Updating my original review due to unfortunate events that happened with the manager. About two weeks ago, our family from out of state came to visit so we brought them to Dave and Busters for some lunch and fun. When our meal was ready, the server and the manager brought our food to us. The manager decided to set down my husband’s food in a weird way and my husband grabbed his soda to ensure it would not fall. Well the manager ended up hitting the cup with the plate of food which caused my husband’s drink to spill all over himself. Essentially, he was too lazy to walk around to set down the food. The drink completely soaked him and we were in shock. The server was so kind and profusely apologized even though it wasn’t her fault. She brought rags to help dry my husband off. The manager said nothing to us and left. It was his fault that the drink spilled onto my husband and he didn’t apologize. All of my family was upset by his lack of accountability. I did ask for my husband’s meal to be comped because of this incident. He told me that it was my husband’s fault for the drink spill. I was not only astounded by this, but I was outraged by the lack of accountability for his actions. He gave me and my mother in law attitude because we called him out. He did end up comping my husband’s meal but it was too little too late. It’s a shame to see how military veterans are treated after serving their country. Due to this blatant disrespect by the manager, we will no longer support...
