I've made six visits there in the last six months. The first visit the food and service was absolutely great. I ordered the ribeye with mushrooms and brown gravy and my daughter ordered the chop steak with gravy. The 2nd visit was OK but steak had alot of fat and gristle. When you paying $24 for steak you expect a good cut. The 3rd visit. I had to send steak back because brown gravy was too salty and steak was too done. The 4th visit my daughter always orders the same chopped steak and my sister ordered chopped steak with brown gravy like my daughter. We had been bragging to my sister about how good the food wad here. Bad mistake. When she got her chopped steak with gravy, her steak was curled up and was covered in gravy. My daughter's chopped steak was flat and covered in gravy. This didn't even make sense. I ordered the ribeye medium and this time it came out with mushrooms and brown gravy all over the top of it. Normally the gravy and mushrooms are in separate dishes. My sister complained and so did my daughter that their gravy was way too salty to eat. They pushed the gravy off and was able to eat theirs. I pushed the gravy off mine because both the mushrooms and gravy were extremely too salty. My ribeye was not good and still do very salty. By this time the regular restaurant manager was gone and the kitchen manager came out. I agreed to go ahead and get a New York strip because it costs the same price as the ribeye for twelve ounces. I also ask for the gravy and mushrooms on the side. Kitchen Manager was the nicest guy. He explained that steaks are cut thicker for medium cooks. If I order mws will then I will get a thinner steak and cooking won't be wvwn. He agreed that he would work on the salt content in the brown gravy and the steak. He gave me a new med NY Strip but it took about 25 minutes and was a little too rare gor so I told him I would just microwave it to cook some of the pink. The steak was so good and I hit yo eat it at home. Well he ended up taking a discount off my sister and daughters meals because of the salty gravy. He comped my steak. I never asked for this but he went beyond what was expected to satisfy the customer. Our 5th visit we always order the same meals with corn or salad. Paris gravy was great and so was mine but my NY Strip had major amount of grisle and fat again and was also burned on ends because it wasn't a thick steak. It was thinner even though it was 12 in. center was pink outside edges burned. I brought it home. Today Mother's Day was our 6 visit in last 5 months. We had a 2 hour wait and this time my other daughter came. The restaurant was so loud and busy. We love the fantastic rolls and cheese fries which were great. My daughter ordered the same chopsteak with corn and fries. Loved hers. Her gravy was great and steak was great. My other daughter ordered sirlon and ordered it med rare so steak should be tender. Her steak was tough and no season. I ordered the NY Strip med. It wasn't the thicker cut. It was thin and brown on the edges and pink in the center. I probably only got 3 oz of edible meat from a 12 oz steak. Again there was whole section of gristle and edges had burned all the way around. I made up my mind. I would not be returning there and I wasn't gonna say anything to the manager but I decided since this was the same hateful manager I dealt with before that I would let him know that he needs to have his staff in the kitchen do something about mistakes because these steaks are almost $25 a piece. He was the same jerk. He offered to make another steak but after 3 hours there we had enough of the loud atmosphere and the big mouths of the waiter and screaming kids. Whew. Sad because I thought we had a great steakhouse but we will not be back there. We will go back to Logan's. I think even Texas Roadhouse at Coastal Grand. The steak is better than what have experienced the last four times I've been to Murrells Inlet location. So sad that manager could care less. Hats off to the nice kitchen manager. You...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant today 2/26/23 and patiently waited on it to open at 11:30, as did many others. Everyone started to line up awaiting the doors to be open. As we are going in, there was a large group of people in the front of us. They entered as we did and was seated. We had a large group as well and we informed her of how many people we had. We were told that she couldn’t seat 27 people. We told her that we understood that we couldn’t sit together as a group, that was no problem. She then said that she didn’t have enough servers to seat 27 people. So at this point we are looking like this has to be a joke because clearly there are more than 27 people who had already entered ahead of us and has been seated, so what’s the reason we are not being able to be served?🤔🤔 As we were leaving there were plenty more people arriving. Some was a party of 5, 4, 3, 2, 4, 5, then 3, 3,4… yes I sat and watch just to see because of what we were told. So, as those parties arrived, they were able to be seated, but if you would add up all those parties together, wasn’t it the same as the group we had?🤔🤔🤔 If not, more🤷🏽♀️. So the woman saying she couldn’t seat 27 people was a flat out LIE and PREJUDICE towards us. How was it possible for the people who came AFTER us to be seated but we couldn’t? We were well aware that we couldn’t sit together and we told her that but was then told she didn’t have enough servers so who served those people that came in behind us? They were not turned around AT ALL!! They were allowed to sit and eat just as we wanted to. We were visiting from out of town and I have already posted on my Facebook page about this TEXAS ROADHOUSE and told all of my friends to Never visit this location when visiting Myrtle Beach/Murrells Inlet. She was very PREJUDICE towards us and we felt like it was intended. Customer service should have been a little better. We did not get an apology or anything. So we left. You can’t treat one customer this way and the other that way and expect to keep people coming to the restaurant. That was not called for. I will make sure everyone knows about this location and how PREJUDICE they are,I PROMISE!! I’m not trying to make it out to be a race thing but that is exactly what it was…. We were African Americans and everyone else that were able to be seated were Caucasian. Go figure!!! But every DOG has its day!!!...
Read moreWent to dinner with a group of friends hoping for a nice relaxing evening with a great meal. Got a seat very quickly which was surprising considering we were told it would be an approximate 45 to 50 minute wait. Our server was prompt in getting our drinks, taking our order, and getting our food out in a timely manner. That's where the great service stopped. A lady in our group ordered a hamburger. She was not asked how she wanted it cooked and it came out very red. Not pink. Red! We got our waitress over and had her take it back. A few minutes later, the manager, Chris, came over and assured us she would bring it out as soon as it was redone. Fast forward 26 minutes (time given to us by Chris) and a hamburger was brought out. It wasn't red this time. It was basically burnt. Beyond well done. The four of us has already finished our meals and once we saw this hamburger, we asked for the manager. Chris returned to our table and we questioned the amount of time it took to get the hamburger and she became very defensive stating, "A well done burger takes 20 to 25 minutes to cook and it's been 26 minutes. I checked the time." Note our friend didn't ask for it to be "well done." She just wanted it cooked; however, no one asked her how she wanted it. We then stated that her meal should be complimentary and Chris stated she would take it off the bill even though she didn't have to because she was "nice like that." She also said she did not expect the crowd they had this evening. An unexceptable excuse especially since a table near us had gotten sat, eaten their meals, and had finished before our friend got her hamburger returned. I realize it is "never your intention to let a customer down," but you failed miserably tonight. The defensive attitude and argumentative tone was very disrespectful and uncalled for. Not that it should need to be mentioned, but my friend is 90 years old and I WILL NOT allow her to be treated this way again by this restaurant, so we won't...
