Came here for some noodles on New Year's day. Noodles for longevity, right!? Overall food was pretty good, but my favorite part was the kimchi.
Ordered two noodle dishes, the Jajangmyeon and the Jjamppong which are two Korean dishes I've had before, but not here. I will saw that these are two dishes that are somewhat nostalgic, since I've had them a good amount of times as a child. As with many dishes like that, there is a certain flavor I'm expecting. These two were not exactly that, but still pretty good in general.
The Jajangmyeon (black bean noodle) has that really savory (slightly sweet) black bean sauce with the chewy noodles. If you have never had this dish, the dark color might scare you off, but give it a try, the flavor is not as intimidating as the overall look is. There's chopped up onions, other vegetables and small pieces of beef inside. The overall flavor was there, but I think it just needed that flavor more concentrated.
The Jjamppong which is a spicy soup was comforting on a cold New Years morning. There's carrots, onions, zucchini, squid and shrimp in this one. It's not as spicy as it appears from the color and I'd actually enjoy it more if it had more spice. Along with that you get that "seafood" flavor, so if that's not your thing, be warned. I believe the noodles are the same type as in the Jajangmyeon.
This is a Chinese/Korean restaurant, as opposed to solely Korean, and they only give out one banchan, the kimchi. I was actually surprised that it was so good. It's sweeter in flavor than usual and of course has the slight spice and sour pickled flavor. Got several refills of this one.
It's a pretty basic designed place with lots of tables. There appeared to be many larger groups being accommodated for the holiday. Even though it was quite busy, service was quick and attentive.
If you are looking for some of the best kimchi, along with the entrees, try...
Read moreMy hubby had the day off, and as my friend's mom used to say "It's too hot to cook!" So, we decided to venture out for Chinese food, only to discover our usual go-to restaurant was closed. Undeterred, I looked up alternatives online and found another restaurant whose menu featured appealing lunch specials, so I resolved to step outside my comfort zone and try something entirely new.
For years, I'd observed Asian diners enjoying bowls of noodles bathed in a rich, dark sauce. Due to my past experiences in a restrictive religious environment where blood was forbidden, I had always assumed this mysterious black sauce contained blood and steered clear of it entirely. However, since breaking free from those constraints, I've embraced a spirit of culinary adventure and decided it was finally time to try these intriguing black sauce noodles, Zhajiangmian.
What a revelation it turned out to be! My husband and I were absolutely delighted with our choice. We ordered two lunch specials along with a small bowl of the Zhajiangmian, which quickly became the star of our meal. The experience exceeded our expectations in every way: we were welcomed with complimentary kimchi and fresh jasmine tea, while every staff member who attended to us was genuinely warm and attentive.
The restaurant itself was immaculate and comfortably cool, bustling with satisfied diners who clearly knew what they were doing. Based on this wonderful first impression, I believe we've just discovered our new favorite Chinese restaurant. Sometimes the most rewarding experiences come from stepping beyond our preconceptions and embracing...

Shrimp in lobster sauce: the shrimp were melee the sauce was tasteless again too salty no flavor whatsoever other than a hint of lobster sauce seasoning, loaded with MSG. Wonton soup: totally tasteless salty broth no intact wontons completely dissolved and there was nothing in the ones on there was no chicken or pork or any sort of filling in the dumpling. Book choy type veg: this was just a tasteless salt lick, you couldn't even taste the vegetable.Kung Pao chicken: the little pieces of chicken worse lightly breaded too moist maybe three peanuts in the entire container and utterly tasteless with just a sprinkling of pieces of red cayenne pepper . Awful. Also tasteless except for salt. I am calling the place in the morning returning my leftover food want my money back ruined my night because I'm still nauseated sweating and I still have to work tonight the...
