We are long time Korean customers in this restaurant. Their food is sometimes good, sometimes ok. But we still go this restaurant to have Korean soup. But last visit we have very bad experience. Their service is not always good, but last time we visited was really bad. We order dishes that did not included the hot soup and we asked one of the waitresses for a small bowl of hot soups and she bring the soups to us. What a wonderful!! But, only problem is the soups were COLD!! Not even warm. I mean COLD. We did not complaint about that. We just not eat the soup. And we saw two waitress looking at us and talking for themself and giggled. We felt they were talking why we not even touch the soup that we asked for. When we pay the bill, I asked service soup is supposed be COLD? and she reply said “Oh, soup was cold?” what the?? She the one who brought the soup!! This Restaurant is used to be good for the Korean Hot Soup place and all soup supposed be in the pot on stove to ready to serve in hot temperature. I don’t want to know where she brought the that COLD soups to us?? May be left over from other customers?? As Korean customer, WE Never going back Again!! I can find how to respond to your comment. I am reply to your request to let you know when and what meal we ate. We went on 05/31/2023, around 5 pm to 5:30 pm. We ordered "cooked pork belly with vegetable, cooked pork feet, korean sausage combo" and Soju....
Read morePrice increase with the current state of economy is inevitable, but a tteokbokki “stew” with sprinkle of cheese for close to $50…?
I’ve been a regular to this spot thus far because it was close by and one of the few places open late enough for me to stop by after work(used to be 11pm, now 10pm). But ever since the pandemic, the service has gone down hill, always saying “you know we close at 10, right?” when my walk in is 9-9:15. I get it, i’m in the industry. But don’t make someone who’s already feeling bad walking in later in the day feel worse walking in hour to 45 min before close. Change your hours if that is an issue!
What made me draw the line, though, is the quality of food and the price tag it came with. One of the newer menus after the owner change is the tteokbokki “stew” as opposed to a usual plate. I saw the price but wanted to give a benefit of doubt. Rice cake, fish cake, ramyun, few pieces sausages and some veggies in a pot. That was it. No hard boiled eggs, no glass noodles, no dumplings or fried stuff, nothing else that would justify the $39.99 price tag. Oh, you want some cheese on top? Bam! +$8. Taste? Sour. SOUR!
I hate wasting food, but i could not bare the take the rest home, so i just picked on sausages and fish cake pieces and left the rest. My order with soondae plate ($34.99) and tax plus tips came out over $90. Was it worth it? You...
Read moreThe food here is really good. Everything we tried was flavorful and hit the spot. However, we ordered the tofu soup with seafood, but it came out with meat instead, which really sucked for my mom, who doesn’t eat meat. That was a big disappointment and could’ve been avoided with more attention to detail. On top of that, the prices are crazy. $61 for beef spare ribs, $40 for pork bossam, and almost $30 for a seafood pancake? That's way higher than what you'd expect from a local Asian spot. It feels more like fine dining pricing, which is hard to justify.
The service could've been better. We had to wave down the waitresses a few times since no one really checked on us after taking our order and dropping off the food. We had to ask for things like refill on tea, napkins, extra utensils, and takeout boxes. It just felt like basic things were overlooked.
The vibe was fine.. Thankfully, the music gave the place a little life, otherwise it would've felt pretty quiet.
Good food, but the prices are way too steep for me to come...
