I finally got my first official PEPE's order in West Garden Grove after all the months of waiting. I had already eaten a large lunch today, so I only got two tacos to try the taste.
The one on the left was their SOFT taco with carnitas, cilantro and onions. $2.75.
The one on the right was the HARD taco with guacamole, cheese and chicken. $4.50.
Both were delicious. They offered me mild, medium and hot sauce. So I asked for one medium and one hot. To my gringo tongue they were BOTH hot, but that did not stop me from using them. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be going back!!! My second visit:
Since I enjoy a good breakfast burrito, I had to try Pepe's to see how theirs is. I ordered the regular Breakfast Burrito with ham. It comes with eggs, potatoes, cheese, beans and green chilis for $10.00. They offered me either mild, medium or hot sauce, so I got one of each. I brought it home to eat and just for fun decided to weigh it. It weighed 1 pound, 2 ounces - 18 ounces!! And boy was it delicious!! I also tried all three sauces on the burrito, and all were good, plus each had distinctly different flavors. If you like breakfast burritos - give Pepe's a try. You won't be...

Pepe's is finally here! For those who don't know the neighborhood has been waiting for maybe a year and a half for this business to finally open. The drive-thru line has been into the street each time I've driven by.
My wife stopped today to pick up an assortment of tacos, flautas, burritos for us to try. Overall we really like the food. There's another new Taco D Anasa place in the neighborhood that we think this is probably beating out.
Straightforward Mexican food served with a drive-thru option. If that's what you're looking for I'm pretty sure you'll be happy.
🌮 Taco was good. It's a hard shell taco in comparison to the street tacos often served elsewhere.
🌯 Burrito was huge. As an all meat burrito it was easy to notice that the meat was less greasy and less fatty than other places.
Flautas were good and my wife said she appreciated the chicken more than the beef.
Overall we will be back again. Biggest challenge is now comparing Pepe's to the other local restaurants and deciding who's got the best Mexican food in the...

Finally got someone to walk over and they said they were closed and trying to open at 9AM. It was 915. Apparently, they were having difficulties with the kitchen, but 2 problems here. First, a breakfast place that doesn't open until 9? And second, why don't they have someone outside telling people who pull up that they're closed? Other people pulled up behind me and 2 guys even tried to walk in. Not a good start for a new local business. Will go elsewhere...
