Thirsty Cow in Garden Grove - Our Go-To KBBQ Spot in LA! 🥩✨ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Visited: Monday, July 14th, 2025 My family and friend's family went to Thirsty Cow for dinner recently, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! There are so many Korean BBQ places in LA, but this one definitely stands out. We ordered the Black Angus Woodae Galbi and the pork jowl with basil and lots of high-quality meats, and they were all simply superb. The basil was even grown on their own garden. The marbling was fantastic, and it melted in our mouths – truly amazing! What really made the experience was the skillful server, Alex. Even though it was busy, they were constantly attentive and incredibly kind, ensuring we enjoyed our meat at its perfect doneness. The side dishes were also excellent, each one tasting like it was made with great care. The steamed egg, in particular, was a perfect complement to the meat. And the Soybean Paste Stew (Doenjang Jjigae) with our meal was so flavorful and hearty, I practically devoured a whole bowl of rice with it. The restaurant's atmosphere was lively yet clean, making it suitable for both family gatherings and dinners with friends. The interior was even better than the best steak houses in Las Vegas hotels. Even though it was a busy night, the tables were spaced out nicely, allowing us to enjoy our meal comfortably. They also have a beautiful bar and amazing cocktails. They didn't even use any low quality liquors for the cocktails. Overall, it was an incredibly satisfying experience, and I can't recommend it enough. If you're looking for delicious Korean BBQ and excellent service, Thirsty Cow is an absolute must-visit! Highly Recommend: Woodae Galbi, smoked pork belly, Kimchi Dosirak. Will I Return?: Absolutely, without a doubt !!! I can't wait to come back with my other friends and family.

Im so glad they opened one up here in OC Garden Grove 🙌🏻 The food was great. I wish their hot sauce was a bit spicier. Noodles are only served on weekends, so keep that in mind. This is definitely one of the higher end meat, so you'll definitely be paying a bit more than your usual KBBQ. Wagyu thin sliced is delicious, dont over cook it. You can see the fat run down the pan.

1. The meat quality were good, and I really love the marinated sirloin! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with a spacious interior! 3. The staff was friendly and attentive! They were able to make some good recommendations! Note: There is ice cream given at the end! Photo: Water, Side Dishes, Tofu Soup, AYCE Meat, and Thirsty Cow Blonde Ale

Service started off horribly with one of the servers INSISTING on putting the food on our grill for us. Right after he did this a grease fire started under our tray and his solution was to pick up the flaming grill and hold it above the table. He had control of it for the most part, however, at one point his hand got wobbly and the currently on fire tray moved closer to my friends on the other side of the table. After the fire went out, he put the tray back on the table and we told him, no thanks and that we rather have a new tray and new meat delivered to us because flaming grease dropped on our other plates, water and table. This took off roughly 25 minutes because we sat around 7 and finally got to start grilling our new food around 730. Then at 8:22 PM the server comes by to announce that it is "last call" for meats for the 2 hour time limit. So we were robbed of our time because of their mistake. One person at our table did talk to the manager about it and they offered us 10% off even though we lost almost 25% of our time. One server did tell us that because this particular location is newly opened that many people may not have experience with this type of restaurant setting where the guests typically cook their own food at the table and that may be why we had this mishap occur. That same waiter also told us of the roof collapsing at a different section of the restaurant luckily when no one was there. This place seems more American BBQ than it does a traditional KBBQ with the meats being offered.

Food was good, our mistake was doing 1 table for 7 guests. Limited on how much food can come to the table paired with being skipped over when asking for more kind of sucked.

Will probably get better with time, but this was a bad first impression so I won't be going back, but I'm sure others will. Not a horrible place, just a...

Had an amazing dinner here. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the music was upbeat and really set the mood for the night. They have all the sides already out for you at your table when you are seated. Ceilings are high and the air circulation was great. The meat cuts were the BEST I have ever had at a KBBQ. I went with premium option, and it was worth every penny. Our orders came out quickly and they changed out the grills after every order was cooked. Service was phenomenal and if you're not sure what to order ask for suggestions, you won't be disappointed. I would suggest when you get there to make sure to double check with the hosts that they get your phone number correctly; they text you when your table is ready. Highly Recommend 10/10 and we will...
