I would give no stars but i have to in order to make this complaint. I been coming here for 8 years, the restaurant always it looks situated like in a bad area full of drug user people that scream curses around you while your walking in and out the restaurant and is also dirty place around the restaurant. For my security I was doing online orders to not have to wait there and expose myself to the druggies.... First bad experience, i ordered a combo and they gave me a old mash potato all dry and a rotten Cole slaw salad, and those sides are very expensive and i had to trow away all my food and loose my money, after that, my other bad experience is that every time i make my orders online, when i pickup they are missing a sauce that i paid for and i had to go back to request it...also, last time they served the wrong chicken parts that ordered in the online order, and I told the lady that was there working about it, and she puts a long bad angry face and fixed my order to the correct chicken parts, i was not done after that and I went ahead and asked her if the sauces where there too, and she ignored me and walked away to attend another customer instead of finishing attending me first, and while with the other customers she pointed me with the finger like telling me to check it myself, and i left feeling offended over this, such an uneducated and unkind employee she was.... The last bad experience i had was today where again they repeated and didn't put my paid sauces in the bag, i asked the girl that was there if everything was like in the receipt, she said YES...so i trusted her word to not bother her checking my bag, and left, and the sauces where not included in the bag after i arrived home again .. this is really annoying and frustrating! I got tired of the same issue happened always and decided to call the store, I asked to speak with a manager to see if I can let them know so the issue doesn't repeat again next time, and the lady that answered the phone said, "tell me the issue" and also didn't want to give me her name! After i tell her the issue and that this is been happening all the times I order, and instead pf understanding me as a frustrated customer, she decided to get it personal and started going personal with me and said; "oh i know who you are and you always are doing the same thing" I got very upset after that and told her that why they are not checking that the order is well served before pickup, and she answered back always with a very careless and unprofessional treatment defending herself and the staff and going personal with me, this happened at around 6:45pm on August 8, I wish I went in person but I couldn't, after the discussion the lady careless said that i can contact corporate if i want, so it means she and her staff dont give a dam of their guetto careless unprofessional services, I don't understand why owners of these restaurants keep shielding and giving work to people that are not capable, patient and understanding of what is a good customer service that maintains customers coming instead of scaring them... I feel very frustrated, untrusted of this place, mostly of the quality and safeness of what we are eating from this location.... I hope the owner sees this review and does something about this issue because me and no one that is a customer deserves to be treated like this. Read moreWow! I thought I'd pick-up a few orders of their 2-piece special on Tuesday, and then pick-up a Little Caesars pepperoni before 10:00PM. My receipt says ordered at 9:29PM. Finally got my order at 10:02PM, to late to get a pizza! Or for that matter anything else! The place wasn't crowded like it is at 7:00-7:30PM, and only two people in front of me when I walked in, although, in hind-sight, there were alot of people sitting and standing around after I had a chance to find my spot to wait for my order.
This place is way closer to my house, like 2 miles, versus the Popeye's on State College, which is about 7 miles, one-way, which is why tonight I thought I would go there (because it's closer), and then stop by the Little Caesars on the way home.
That's the last time I go to the Katella/Brookhurst Popeye's. This happened once before, about a year ago, but the guy at the register said it would take about 18 minutes, and gave me an option to get regular versus spicy chicken right now, or wait the 18 minutes extra. No problem, I went grocery shopping at Stater Bros. over on Brookhurst and Orange, came back, and my order was ready.
This time it was different. They all new what was going on, seven or eight workers pretty much idle, yet one or two were still calling "Next In Line!". There were no next in line, just a bunch of us waiting for our orders! Number 214 was called at least twice, seems they were negotiating the order because they didn't have the product available.
Popeye's chicken is great! This particular location ruins a great Popeye's night. I definitely will be driving the extra miles to State College and La Palma for my future...
Read moreI came to this location a couple of times over the course of about 5 years and in recent years, experience has been dismal.
There were some inconveniences such as one of the doors is locked/blocked, some parts of the restaurant were blocked. Also, when I came in to pick up my order, the worker seems very unhappy or very out of it and it was lunch hour with no customers.
Also, the customer service was basic "bare minimum." Like, I told them that I tried to order something online but, it didn't came out correctly on their end. The worker was like, "we can't do anything about it" and did attempt to give me a free sauce. Unfortunately, it didn't really helped how my food came out and I just left with what I have. They could have been a little more accommodating such as offering to redo the order since ordering from the website can be tricky, but they didn't do that. Note, that I'm not completely mad because the computer didn't show any special notes, but customer service could have been better.
Update: 10/18/2023 I do have to update this because I got food poisoning from eating my chicken wings and my fountain drink. First off, the flavoring on my wings were sweet and spicy, but had a very strong acidic aftertaste which badly upsets my stomach. The fountain drink, I got Sprite and it tasted like someone did not either update or cleaned up the soda machine. The soda was not fizzy and the sweetness/syrup tasted like it was expired. And I realized that this location had the same issue the last time I was here.
