Saigon Vegan - Garden Grove — Restaurant in Garden Grove

Ordered this for delivery. As much as I want to support vegan restaurants.. what I ordered was questionable.

First- putting hashbrown, spring mix, lettuce, cucumbers, and garlic aioli.. WHY WHY WOULD YOU TAINT A CLASSIC BANH MI even if being vegan would you add these ingredients?? It tasted horrible. So salty, so weird with the garlic and bitterness of the spring mix as well as the texture of the lettuce. Also WHY is the carrots and daikon so little and SALTY? It's suppose to be sweeter. I could not finish this.

I know what a traditional banh mi tastes like as well as a good vegan banh mi and this was an insult to my culture and my taste buds.

Second- The beef stew.. ofc I've had the traditional as well as moms homemade vegan beef stew aka Bo Kho (chay). For some reason I tasted an overwhelming taste of carrots and tomatoes.. why did the soup taste like tomatoes and it was too sweet? I have no idea. I had a challenging time finishing this.

Overall, I'm willing to try the other dishes only because this place is vegan but I most definitely will NOT have the beef stew nor the banh mi again. Sad.

If you want THE BEST vegan banh mi you'd have to visit Dong Hung Vien Bakery. ~ 10 mins...

I will start with the good- I ordered through postmates and it came quickly and was still hot when it arrived. I got the portobello tenders and pad thai with extra veggies. The portobello tenders were bomb and probably one of the best things I've eaten in a while- the order came with quite a few and could have used some more dipping sauce. The pad Thai was decent- a solid 7 out of 10 but I am a Thai food conessuar so my standards are pretty high. There were a few sprinkles of broccoli and cauliflour added in however the items I ordered together should have been about 18 dollars all in all not including delivery charges. I got a notification saying the restaurant had increased the cost of my order to 34.00?!?! This is not including the fees. I know I asked for extra veggies but I don't think I got 16.00s worth nor should it ever cost that much for some sprinkles of broccoli and cauliflour. I feel a bit ripped off- I am on a budget and only order in very occasionally so this was a big disappointment. I won't order this restaurant for delivery again...

Calling all vegans don’t walk but RUN to Saigon Vegan!

Oh my gosh I am so grateful that I found this place! I was craving so really good tasting food and have been craving vegan fried chicken for like a month. This is THAT place! And the pricing is not bad at all! The service was nice and quick and I seriously can’t wait to come back and try more of their dishes. So nice to come to a place that is fully vegan and truly enjoy some great quality food that doesn’t cost $20 per item. All of the three items I ordered are priced at $7.95. The Bánh mì was one of the most flavorful I’ve had and the hash brown was perfectly crispy on the outside. The oyster tenders, just get them and thank me later and same thing about the egg rolls.
