Hi everyone, my partner and I ordered to go. When we first walked in the door. The aroma of pho broth filled my nose and I instantly became more excited that my hang over is going to be cured. Decent service. Nice people. We ordered #1 pho combo, #20 beef rib pho, & #53 eggrolls. We should have oepned it and checked it in front of them right then and there but we were rushing to get home already. (When we order out, most of the time something gets screwed..so we make it a habit to check if our order is correct)
When we got home, then bean sprouts and herbs were on top of the hot soup! That caused the basil to wilt, turn brown, and mushy. :( . The broth was inconsistent. While one soup was bland and the other was super salty. So the bf and I just combined it and add water. OH MAN & the worst part was the egg rolls! It looked nothing like the pictures and was also on the salty side. It looked as it was left over egg rolls and they refried.... we would know. However i do give points for the nuoc mam sauce, it was perfectly balanced of sweet, salty, and tangy. Not like some other places that i find to taste like sugar water. The beef ribs were decent. No falling off the bone action here , there was some resistance pulling of the meat. Not bad, our dog loved it. Would i come here again? No. Is this the best Pho spot in Westminster ? No. Is this the best I have ever been to ? Hell no.
P.s. sorry I didn't take pics of the pho. It was pretty...
Read moreIt's Phoshizzle time!! Ask anyone in this area where to eat pho and this is the place to go. Even if you aren't a fan everyone has been to Pho 54. This is my go to place after trying a Reflexology massage.
I love a fast and hot bowl of soup when the meat is endless in an extra large bowl for around $6.50. That is heaven in a bowl. The noodles are cooked just right and it's all good. I'm not a huge fan of the broth. It's good most times but muddy and not clean tasting other times. It's either super fresh or a day old soup. Don't forget your meal comes with a free drink! Given it's slightly watered down but acceptable and it's free!
My only gripe is I wish the broth was more flavorful and coincident. Also, at time this place can range from 5 star hotel clean to slumdog dirty. It tends to smell when it's a dirty day and there's very little ventilation. I'm not complaining though I understand that food quality is always a priority over cleanliness for most asian restaurants.
I recommend this place for a quick pho fix. Pho 54 currently my favorite Westminster area pho place. I'm no pho snob but honestly I've heard this area has the best pho, but 90% of the other places I've tried are all crap. I hate to say it but Irvine has better pho. Also, some Riverside places have better pho and that's way out in the IE. I know that's going too low but it's true. Westminster does NOT have good pho. You can...
Read moreI craved pho last midnight and thank goodness Viet soups were looking down on me that night cause Pho 54 was open. And no, I did not have to come running cause they were closing in 30 minutes. They're open til 3. I don't know if this is unusual here but I live in West LA and these kinds of blessing just don't usually happen whenever you want to.
I had meatball and brisket pho - my go to. It was toasty, my heart melted. There was so much meat in my bowl. It was both a blessing and a curse. I'm used to running out of meat before noodles but this time, I ran out of noodles. I was very happy about it. Curse, because you know, I'd rather eat less red meat but whatever. I'd say the actual broth was a little bland, but I drench mine in hoisin and sriracha anyways so those basked the flavor regardless. I think the best part of this whole thing was my gigantic "regular" bowl cost me $6.50. WHAT? Am I overreacting? Cause I'm not used to this kind of spoiling.
The servers were all smiles at us all throughout. It was an overall good experience. Will...
