The lies people tell.
In response to Matthew Soul's reply to my previous review, I want to address the inaccuracies. They claimed that I ate everything, which is false. I did consume the sandwich until the last few bites, despite it being moldy, and I explained this to them “clearly” the poboy was actually good until I saw the mold on the bread. However, we only partially ate the fried chicken. Additionally, we ordered short ribs with three sides, but we didn't eat any of it. Yuck!! We were disgusted.
I turned to Google because the owner was refusing to refund me fully. Initially, they only agreed to refund the sandwich with the moldy bread. I informed them that if the bread was moldy, it's likely the other items were expired as well. Consequently, I demanded a full refund, threatening to escalate the issue on Google if necessary.
To all reading this, It's important to inspect your food before consuming it, especially when supporting small businesses with little business.
The only reason why I choose to support this place is because every time I pass by this establishment, it's always empty, which now raises concerns about the freshness of their food.

We tried a few spots but they didn’t satisfy the taste We’d been looking for. We drove passed Matthews restaurant everyday for an entire year and finally decided to give them a try and man oh man!! I’m glad we did, because it did not disappoint. The food is tasty, the flavor and seasonings are on point and Michelle the host/Owner is a precious gem. Such a kind woman and has great southern hospitality. It’s safe to say that my partner and I are now regulars at this homey-feeling spot. There’s an open fully-stocked bar and TVs if you wanna chill out, eat and have some drinks on game days. My favorite dinner entrée would have to be the oxtails smothered in gravy over a bed of rice with the mixed greens and cabbage and black eyed peas with a side of yams!!!! Oh yea and they have that White Henny.....
