Went there for our birthday' s. Server, older male, seemed occupied with something else. Took order and disappeared. Came back later, disappeared. I had to ask greeter to get our server. Finally got him there long enough after telling him not to run off I have questions The question was ,do you do anything for birthday's. I told him it was my wife's as well as mine. Like he couldn't believe it, assuring him it was the truth. He came back out with a hat, sang Happy Birthday to my wife,, also bringing out a dessert, ended up putting whipped cream from dessert onto her nose. He started to walk off, I had to stop him and remind him it was my birthday too. He put the hat on me, sang Happy Birthday and spooned whipped cream onto my nose from the same dessert. 2 birthday's, 1 dessert. The food was good, we got the pork carnitas Friday night special. Server, not too good, didn't believe customer, seemed occupied, didn't check back...
Read moreApparently there's no host/hostess bc we waited 10 min for anyone to even come up to the front to talk to us. It took more than 30 minutes for our order to arrive, the food was bland, they messed up my order and then blamed it on me (I ordered spinach and chicken enchiladas but there was no chicken when it arrived and the waiter said, "yeah, they're spinach enchiladas - they don't come with chicken"), the meat & vegetables on the fajita dish were beyond scorched and completely inedible, and the service was terrible. The Fronteras in Lenexa has incredibly fast & friendly service, the food is always delicious, and food arrives before we can get halfway through the first bowl of chips. I thought that I would have a similar experience but I was woefully wrong. I will NEVER return to the Fronteras in Gardner. I will drive a much further distance to the Lenexa location for better service and...
Read moreGreat food & portion size! The staff was helpful & friendly with the exception of wanting me to pay for extra salsa for my to go order. Both my husband & I usually put an entire bowl of salsa on our rice for dinner which would have left us nothing for our chips. We didn't ask for a gallon, just 2 extra bowls, which they would have given us at no extra cost if we were eating in. Obviously, this was our first experience here. Now, about the salsa which is very important in a Mexican restaurant, well, we loved it, its not so hot that you can't enjoy it because it made your entire mouth going numb! For those who like their salsa hot, you can add more peppers but for those who don't when restaurants start with their "house or regular" salsa too hot, a great deal of customers won't return because it won't be an enjoyable meal for them. We will definitely be back as long as they don't...
