My boyfriend and I had been excited to finally try this place out and both were thoroughly disappointed. First of all we were sat next to a very large group and so the mood was already offset by how loud it was but that can be overlooked especially during COVID struggles. Second of all, our waitress checked on us exactly three times- once to get our drink orders, once for food orders, and once at the end of our meal to finally ask how we liked it but by that time we were already asking for togo boxes. As for the food, we had a coupon for a free cheese dip with order of 2 drinks/2 entrees so we used that and the cheese was very low tier in comparison to the other restaurants we frequent, far too salty. I ordered a taco platter which I figured couldn't possibly go wrong, and the tacos themselves were pretty great though I would have liked to have some sort of sauce option. The rice was bland and slightly undercooked. My partner got a pork chimichanga and was very disappointed. He's a big fan of Mexican food (I mean he is Mexican so naturally lol) and the night before we came here we had gone to another place and he tried a new buritto that wasn't very great, so 2 nights of disappointing meals was kind of upsetting. Personally, the prices for alot of things seemed a bit too high for the quality of the food. Considering our favorite Mexican restaurant is just up the street with better food, better prices, and better service, I don't think we'll be returning here...
Read moreFirst time here, like always, and I wasn’t terribly impressed with the food. My rating would be 3.5/5 stars. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t wowing me. It’s a typical Mexican-American restaurant for me. Their queso tasted like a base for macaroni and cheese for me. Wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t bad. Their chips are good though. Warm and a little bit tangy/sour (lime/lemon I’m assuming) their salsa on the other hand was amazing. Love the addition of cilantro! I got their Quesadilla Hawaiiana and it came with 4 slices (typical quesadilla size) and a dollop of sour cream, Guacamole, and a little bit of pico de gallo and lettuce shreds. I was expecting beans and rice to be added but I guess that was my fault for not reading close enough. The sauce they added in the quesadilla was good! Flavorful and seasoned just right. Chicken was a moderate amount and cheese wasn’t overbearing. My plate did look sad a bit but for $11 you can’t complain. Their margarita was very good as well! Overall, I would come back again but not if I had other options. If you’re in the area, it’s a good eat for sure! They’re super busy so it gets crowded in there. I noticed it to be a bit small in there. Service was...
Read moreWent for lunch with a friend and got the pollo con chipotle and it was delicious! So creamy. The onions could have cooked a bit more. The corn tortillas were perfectly heated. Weren't falling apart or tearing. The rice was a little dry and the refried beans were yummy. I'd say overall it was good food and I would definitely get the pollo con chipotle again. The time I was there was right in the midst of the lunch rush and even though it was busy it wasn't too loud. The server checked on us 2-3 times, which was absolutely fine. I don't like being checked up on a bunch by my server while I'm eating. It's super awkward to have food in your mouth when the come ask how everything is. The greeters were quiet and didn't say anything when we walked in; just stared at us waiting for us to say how many. There could have been a much better welcoming. I felt awkward standing there. Not very many words were exchanged between me, my friend and the greeter. It gave the feeling that they didn't care nor want to be there and just wanted to leave. I was tempted to walk back out and go somewhere else for lunch. Didn't even say anything when we left, just pretended we...
