Park Avenue Muffin — Restaurant in Garfield Heights

I've purchased these little cakes for a long time now, but stopped for awhile because I ate too many. Today, 1/9/2022 I went to Marc's in Strongsville and bought a cake by Park Avenue Muffin called wedding cake. I was so excited to head home and grab a cup of coffee and enjoy this cake I so remembered, but was shocked when I tasted it. The cake was not at all edible. It tasted like some kind of plastic chemical. I couldn't believe how the taste has changed from the last time I ate it. What happened? That taste remained in my mouth for awhile and I could taste it each time I exhaled. Something is definitely not right here. There was no way to contact the company from what I could see online, so I had to publicly post this in hopes the company will be able to figure out that if these cakes taste like this no one will purchase them again. I was looking for an economical sweet at my local Meijer and I saw these small cakes that looked like they would be about 3 servers. There were three flavors Wedding, Carrot Cake and Double chocolate. I'm not really a chocolate guy unless its a chocolate bar so I passed on that one, Had no clue exactly what "Wedding" flavor is so I chose the Carrot cake as I've always been a fan of a good Carrot cake. After dinner I cut a third of this out and gave it a try. The cake was not all that good. It was very very dry and the flavor was subpar. Definitely couldn't eat this without some milk, coffee or tea. The only reason this got a 2 star rating is the Cream cheese frosting actually had decent flavor and not to sickeningly sweet. I LOVE the concept of these little cakes. Approximately 4.3M people in Ohio are age 50 & up & we can assume a household size of 1-2 people. These cakes are PERFECT for this demographics. I bought 2 wedding cakes at my local DrugMart for $2.49 each. Unfortunately my cake was dry & tasteless & had that yellow tinge when the baker doesn't know to use egg whites only. I loved the almond flavor in the icing but low quality bucket frosting is best left in the bucket. I didn't like the star tip decorating. I think it makes the product look cheap & badly home made.
