The owner was very unprofessional, to start i called her and asked if she offer nail service without using drill, she replied yes but it takes more time (i can hear in her voice she didnt want to really offer me this service, it would have saved time and a bad review if she would have said No) so i said okay can i make an appointment and informed me on the process of making appointment and thats what i did. I called on Friday and made my appointment for monday 1pm. Day of appointment its raining hard and i made it to her shop 12:55 and she's not open (wierd because she has an appointment in 5 minutes) so i stand by her door waiting, now its 1:02 so i called her and she says im on my way I'll be there soon, we hang up. Well 1:07 she arrives and im still standing by her door, she walks past me without apologizing for being late or even saying hello. I step out the doorway to give her room to open her shop, once i go back to door to go in the door is locked back up (huh, she didn't realize she has a customer standing outside in the rain, yeah ok) so i had to knock on door so i can gain entrance???????? She still haven't greeted me as a 1st time customer or just a customer, after sitting down in her chair she instantly says go wash ur hands (still no greeting š) after washing my hands and sitting back n her chair she grabs the drill so i pull my hands off her table and remind her I'm the one who called and asked if she offered manual services without using drill, she replaced tge drill back on stand and says it's going to take time. I said ok just like i did during the phone call so she proceeds to doung my nails. I had two cracked nails and brought it to her attention b4 she started filling them, she looked at them and said ok. She pulls out pink acrylic powder and i asked if she has clear, she says this is clear (granted my eyesight isnt the best so i thought ok it looks light pink but maybe its not) it wasnt clear. She spent 40 minutes on my nails without using a drill (i guess she thought she didnt have to do satisfactory services because she cant use her drill) she didnt fill my cracks in like a nail tech is trained to do and she did horrible work. I was planning on her doing my pedicure and fill in because thats the services i choose when making my appointment, after looking at my nails i kindly left her a 3$ tip (i always tip at least 10$) and left out her shop very disappointed š. I messaged her and explained why her services was not worthy of the amount i paid then went on paypal to dispute the charges because i didn't recieve what was expected or paid for (still waiting on decision from paypal). I was very excited to support a black owned business and woman but never again. I see why its easier to support non black businesses because blacks can definitely cut corners when unwarranted. Im 100% positive that there are very exceptional excellent black owned businesses but unfortunately this isnt one of them based off my only experience with...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlease stay far away from this salon if you care about your nails. I decided to go with this place because it had 4.5 stars. BEWARE: 80% OF THE POSITIVE GOOGLE REVIEWS ARE FAKE. Unfortunately I didn't notice this until after my service. Sorry Ms. Trap, I wanted to like your salon but after further evaluation I have to make sure no one goes near this place.
In order to have an appointment you must make a deposit of $22. I don't know of any nail salon that does this. She texted me and rescheduled shortly after I made the appt. Once I showed up for my scheduled appointment, I still waited about 45 minutes. I would have been okay with all of this if her work was good. Upon seating me, she wiped down the desk with the towel she had just used on her last client (no disinfectant), took a bite of her sandwich, and put down the same dirty ashy towel she used on her last client.
I asked for sculpted nails (no tip or glue, just acrylic). I was a nail tech in my previous jobs, so I know bad application. The application was very sloppy, she literally plopped in on with no technique. She applied the acrylic three separate times, drilling aggressively in-between to "get her shape right". Ideally, you should really aim to apply the acrylic one time. It should be flat, thinner near the cuticle and thicker in the middle. However this was just a clump of acrylic that she attempted to shape into a nail afterwards. They literally resembles Mr.Krabs freaking claws. They don't look natural at all. (Yes they are fake but should look real).
When I left I still had acrylic all over my skin. When I went to wash my hands, she didn't even have brushes to get the acrylic off! So uncomfortable. Also the bathroom was disgusting. I have chunks of acrylic MISSING off the sides some fingernails, as well as some acrylic underneath my nail that I cannot get out. It is just a freaking hot mess.
She literally drilled past my cuticle onto my skin. I have cuts all of over the moons of my nailbed. Two days later and I AM STILL in pain. The whole time I was tense, and I kept pulling away. Rough is not the word. BRUTAL is.
Maybe I would have told her I was dissatisfied with my service if she EVEN ASKED. She didn't ask me what shape I wanted, or if I was okay with the look of my nails upon finishing. As a previous nail tech, this is standard to make sure that your client is happy. I could tell she just wanted to get me out of her chair. At this point I didn't even bother to say anything because I knew she didn't care.
Please see the photos to see what a disgrace this work was. I am appalled she is still in business and that some people like her work. They obviously dont know what good nails look and feel like. This was the farthest thing from professional or relaxing. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere should really be a no star review option. I wouldn't give this salon any stars and just a warning for anyone interested on being serviced by "Ms. Trap". ITS LITERALLY A TRAP! I paid $44 dollar deposit for an appointment for a fullset (short) and a basic pedicure. Thankfully, I reviewed some of her work and decided that she could just do the pedicure because I didn't want to be stuck with a bad acrylic job on my hands. Upon entering the salon her AC was "broke" so it was very hot. I'm understanding and know that things happen so I sat through the appointment. The establishment was very messy, dirty, dusty, and just looked very unsanitary. The chair was unstable where I laid my feet I thought it would break. No warm towel no massage. $74 dollars is what I ended up paying in total. Just for the pedicure! She was very rough with my toes and when I say rough she was literally digging and bending my toes while she polished them. She polished each toe one at a time so i had to keep lifting my leg up and down multiple times to have her polish them on her leg and put them into the light. The gel polish is on my skin and globs of paint all over you can't tell where my skin and nail start or end. Its not a solid paint job some areas are covered more than others. She didn't ask if I was satisfied. After looking at this terrible work that was done with my feet I just put my socks back on gave her the money she was requesting and left. I've never been so disappointed about service as much as this. I was debating on even writing a review but I would feel worst by not saying my peace and letting "Ms. Trap" continue to cat fish people. I was looking for a nail tech but this is my first and last time coming to this salon. *update my gel polish just peeled off the day after. A joke. If you want to give to charity this...
