I went to Apple Bees on Saturday to have an impromptu dinner with my fiance. I was so disappointed with the service i received. After being seated, Jillian H greeted us and took our drink orders. We order 1 glass of seltzer, some iced tea, and a strawberry margarita. However, just bringing the non alcoholic drinks to the table took about 15 min. It's worth mentioning that at this point we still did not have any utensils or napkins, or any type of table setting. The boneless wings we ordered as an appetizer got to the table before the margarita did, but without utensils or napkins. For 10 min we waited for a runner to bring us some, even though we asked twice. Finally we decided to start eating with our hands. I pointed this out to the server. She informed me that i did not have any napkins yet because "they come with the utensils" (??), which she had also failed to bring us. She went back to the kitchen without apologizing. Soon after, she brought the margarita to our table, finally with some napkins and utensils. I took only one sip of it because it tasted like watered down strawberry juice, with no alcohol. I called her over again and she rolled her eyes and said she had had similar complaints in the past with frozen margaritas and that she could bring us a shot of tequila to put on it if it did not taste like alcohol enough. My fiance, who had also tried it, restated that it tasted like it had NO alcohol, to which she mumbled "yes it does". She then took the margarita from our table, to only leave it two tables away from us, in an empty table. After this i decided I had had enough, so we asked to speak with the manager. Up to this point, none of the staff had been even close to apologizing for what was happening. The manager got to our table a few minutes later and asked us what had happened. I told him I understood if the kitchen was busy and that's why our order was delayed, but the quality of the service was terrible. He proceeded to say they were "not even that busy", but that this was the first time he was hearing about it. He also did not apologize, but at least he understood why we were canceling the rest of our order and did not charge us for the second appetizer that had just gotten to our table and were not planning on eating. I have to say, even though i do not expect five star service when I go to an apple bees, this is below the minimum anyone could expect. At the very least, regardless of the circumstances, any member of apple bees team could have apologized for what was happening. This is beyond disappointing and i can honestly say i will not be...
Read moreI literally just left this place not even 2 minutes ago.. and I will NEVER return here ever again, and honestly not sure WHY I even decided to dine here.. Unfortunately, I was in the area. I went to put my name on the list, and was going to be seated INSIDE at an “EIGHT TOP,” as stated from whoever was at the door on the tablet controlling the wait list at 10:41pm. I STILL put my name on the list and went to check other options for outside dining because I was told I wouldn’t have to wait at all, VS a 35-40 minute wait inside for that SPECIFIC “EIGHT TOP TABLE” INSIDE. My entire 8 people were present, and we noticed a bigger table but they were not trying to seat us together. Instead they gave us FOUR DIFFERENT TABLES all away from eachother, but there was a PARTY OF SEVEN (all Hispanic ethnic) SEATED AT ONE TABLE CLOSE TO EVERYONE THEY ARRIVED WITH. My group, (mostly African American, but also including Caribbean/ Puerto Rican decent little did they know,) DID NOT RECEIVE THE SAME TREATMENT. We told them we see a table.. completely empty that can fit our party, and we realized the hostess was actually trying to give that table to another Hispanic family who had gotten there 10 minutes after us!! We settled for two separate tables, less than 6 feet away from each other, but became irritated and fed up that another party could sit together and eat as a family right in front of us but we could not. We got up and shifted the tables together, only putting two tables together to accommodate US since this disgusting place couldn’t. A guy who was dressed in a maroon shirt, I believe to be one of the managers.. about 5’6 Hispanic decent, with dark black hair then walked over while holding another tables two drinks and started to argue with my boyfriend and everyone else in the party that we could not sit together or move the tables!! His approach was disgusting, nor did he ever stop to listen or hear us out. He actually prolonged the argument. F* THIS APPLEBEES LOCATION! I cannot wait to report this to corporate. I will never return here again, and I’ll be sure to spread the word. I understand these uncertain times with COVID, BUT TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME AND ACCOMMODATE...
Read moreYesterday Saturday 01/06. I have to experience a painful situation. As usual, I arrived at the rest, sat down with my girlfriend at the bar and for no reason a cretin began to verbally attack me with a certainly racist and xenophobic attack, for no reason he began to say expletives and insults. The guys who were tending the bar quickly told the person in charge of the situation, who I really believe was waiting for me to be attacked before they could do something or simply remove him from the place, she preferred to continue serving and selling liquor to a misfit instead of preventing him. the situation escalated. The guy asked to move to a table, they moved him immediately. He then continued to attack him using very offensive words, until 2 brave people could not stand his offensive epithets and made him leave the place. To this end, the person in charge of the place had called the police who came to remove these people from the place who bravely acted to prevent this evil human being from continuing with his aggression.
I understand that because of her quality as a woman, she could not really act avoiding any aggression or something, but I also understand that if she saw a person attacking others, she was obliged to remove him from the place and not simply give him the comfort of continuing to give insults and offenses to customers who come to the place simply to enjoy food and drink.
I believe that as a chain you should review their internal protocols and try to prevent situations like these from escalating to such a high level.
For my part, despite being a nearby place, I will never return.
If yesterday the manager allowed a person to offend another for no reason and preferred to continue serving and selling liquor without at least providing for the safety and integrity of the other customers. I would not want to experience the situation in which someone physically attacks me in your restaurants so that the manager acts the way she should have done.
It is sad to have experienced this situation in your...
