This place is going from good.. bad...to worst. Today's visit was the most unpleasant. First salsa had a quarter of tomato in it that took up the whole cup. Then shrimp cocktail was just tomato or Clamato with shrimp. I had to ask for avacodo and we to go grab my own crackers. Then the absolute worst was the catfish nuggets. Thankfully they shorted me a nugget because it got worse. They were over cooked and then maybe fried in what tasted like oil that had been used for a while. When we went to pay I asked the young lady who said was the manager on duty and daughter of the owner to please remove the nuggets from my check since I didn't care for them and didn't eat it and explained why. Her response was she had to charge me for what I had ordered and couldn't help that I didn't care for how it tasted. Poor customer service all the way and...
Read moreBIG PORTIONS. Ordered the skillet for 2 and had enough for the both of us for 2 days. Came in around 9pm, it was busy, but we were seated immediately as was everyone else who walked in the door. Our order was taken quickly and brought out quickly as well. Surprisingly it took a LONG time after we were done to get the waitress' attention to get the check. Then realized after a while she wouldn't be coming back for it and we were supposed to pay at the register. I didn't notice when we arrived, but when we were leaving I noticed the place was filthy with used napkins and crumbs all over the floor. There were tables that looked like they had been cleaned, but all the crud is not swept up off the floor. The bathrooms were not acceptably clean by any means either. Overall a good FOOD and service experience, just not much in the area of...
Read moreFood, very good, but, waited a looong time. We felt like they were hoping we would leave as we watched staff rush by & around us. Others came in, were seated, drinks & chips served, orders taken long before staff ever came to our table, then, spoke no English. We've spent time in Laredo, & other border towns where we always seek local, more authentic Mex/TexMex restaurants & have never ever felt unwelcome like we did at this Garland restaurant. My Spanish is as poor as their English, but again never had this problem in Laredo or other border towns. After all this is America & English is our language. No offer of refills etc. They could have made much more money but apparently they prefer not to assimilate & keep non Spanish speaking patrons from entering. No worries... We won't...
