The food is good. I recommend the ceviche and the Pollo a la Brasa. Unfortunately, the service isn't good. My family and I used to go almost every weekend therefore most of the staff knows us. We've had our differences with the lady owner but she got unbelievably rude three weeks ago. This time was different because my husband planned a special day with family for my birthday. He took a birthday cake, balloons and presents. The owner didn't ever bother to approach the table and say hello or congratulations. The waitress who was attending our table didn't have manners when she asked us what we were going to order. Never came back to refill our glasses. When we finish our meal and my family sang happy birthday nobody offer to bring extra forks or plates. When my sister went to ask for spoons for the cake the owner lady said I cannot give silverapoons only plastic ones with an attitude in her voice and face. It felt like we were begging for this stuff. We were a small party of four. Why not have a special attention to a regular customer? If this was my business I will at least have the courtesy to check what else the customer needs and even more on a special occasion. I just hope the owner understands that it is not just about counting numbers and sitting on a desk what makes a business successful. Unfortunately, what should've been a nice day to remember will be eclipsed by the owner's attitude. On my part I won't be going to this place anymore, neither my family, and far from me to recommend this restaurant ever again...
Read moreI really had high hopes for this visit. I have had Peruvian food before and liked it, And I was excited to see ceviche on the menu. The waiter never mentioned that it was different than the typical ceviche of shrimp in sauce, but that's ok. When I received a plate of dry fish, that was ok, too. After all, I'm a huge sushi fan. What I didn't like is taking one bite and having a fish spine poke my cheek. I put that down and there were scales on it still. The pieces smelled rotten and were rubbery. We called the waiter over and politely said that the ceviche had some issues and was not edible. The waitress said you get the qualify of what you order, and it wasn't her fault I ordered ceviche. Well. We asked for a manager. 10 minutes later (we were the only guests--should've been a sign), the manager told us regardless if the fish is bad, I should've known how to order better, and they weren't taking it off the ticket--knowing I took 4 bites of 4 pieces and spit all 4 out. I was trying to be understanding, tried to make it work, but after that...shocking. Terrible service, terrible food, terrible stench, terribly uncomfortable seating/music. Have I mentioned the food was rotting? And they not only didn't apologize, but insisted I pay for the uneaten rotten food? Yeah.
It's a joke in my house now. Me: "Where do you want to go to eat?" Husband: "Hey, how about Machu Picchu?" Both of us "HAHAHAHHAHA! Yeah,...
Read moreJULY 2021. The food was terrible! I do NOT recommend this place. I used to enjoy eating "lomo saltado" because everything else didn't have the original peruvian taste. But today even the lomo saltado wasn't good. Everything is lacking of flavor, at least peruvian flavor. Including the drink: the maracuya that I ordered tastes old. Ceviche was made with citric acid, and not limes. Papa a la huancaina wasn't homemade, although I saw several American costumers here at the time of my visit, and I totally understand how good may taste to them, but as a peruvian I can assure that this place taste NOT like REAL peruvian cuisine.
I have visit other peruvian restaurants, and I can say that Cuzco restaurant in Irving taste delicious, just do not order ceviche there, because that one does not match the peruvian standard. In the other hand, La Brasa restaurant has an excellent ceviche, but everything else although taste better than Machupicchu, still does not match the peruvian taste, and guess why? Because their chefs are NOT peruvian, and ONLY the man in charge of ceviche is peruvian there.
We couldn't finish our food because we felt that we were lying to ourselves forcing us to eat at Machupicchu a food that was lacking of flavor, but my bill was over $71, so I'm taking it home for my dogs. Today they will eat something different. I...
