Burger Island — Restaurant in Garland

Stopped here with my fiancé, as he’s been to other Burger islands before raving about how good the burgers were. His was very delicious! Although, I feel as if there wasn’t that many options for burgers. As for mine, I found a hair in my burger and returned it to get another one bc I was hungry and wanted my food, not even asking for my money back. Female Cashier had terrible customer service but was granted the return. Upon receiving the burger, it had a layer of Mayo as thick as the meat. It wasn’t even a hamburger anymore. By then, I lost my appetite and took the burger to go, maybe to fix it at home. Ordered a shake as well, chocolate to be exact, cashier sent the cook to tell me they were out so I asked for a strawberry instead. Apparently they make their ice cream “homemade”...far from that. The shake tasted like freezer burn. Not only that, it’s not clean, and no a/c, the whole staff was sweating they just had fans throughout. Uncomfortable atmosphere. My experience was terrible before I even walked through the door. I called in an order and spoke with a man by the name of “Sam.” I could not understand what the man was saying, Upon asking for clarification he tells me to “I’m busy hurry up and order.” Upon arriving to the restaurant to pick up my order, I hear him yelling at his employee, losing his temper the entire time. He then proceeded to throw my food onto the counter, forgetting the condiments that I paid extra for. I ended up having to turn around and go back to the restaurant twice because of things he forgot in my order. After having to go back twice, I begin to express my concern just to be ignored and told “not to speak in that tone.” Coming from a man whom was just screaming at his employee. Avoid if like decent hamburgers. Owners don't care about the business.

Burgers were overcooked and dry, cheap bun, low quality ingredients and tasteless fries. Add high prices to this and you have Burger Island. Getting the combo (fries & drink) adds $5.69 to the price of the burger. Tasteless fries and a smallish generic Styrofoam cup. Last photo in this review shows what $15 gets you.

From the moment you look at details of the outside and see the faded, peeling signage to walking up to the counter to placean order you can see that the owners have given up.
