The family and I decided to go have the all you can eat. We have had it there before and enjoyed it , the several times we visited. So we pack the kids in the car, and tell them it’s a surprise dinner(because they love it). We pull in , they realize we are eating at The Laughing Crab , and are jumping up and down with excitement! We enter , get seated and then see no one for over 20 minutes…(service has always been pretty slow, so we weren’t freaking out about the wait). Finally, a young man comes to take our order and we tell him that we all are having the all you can eat. We tell him 2 adults and 2 children. He says no it’s all adult prices. We were so confused, and are explaining that my grandson is only 9 years old and that my grand daughter 11 years old, will only eat a few bites of her food. He says it doesn’t matter how old they are and says it’ll be 43.99 for their orders , the same as our adult priced meal. He says how tall are they? I’m like idk but they are young children. He says , they are too tall for the kids all you can eat price and asked them to go measure themselves on the chart on the wall. I asked how that matters , when they are children. He says they go buy the height of the people … I explained that I believe this is the craziest thing I’ve ever heard of. So…, because my grandchildren are tall ( their mother , who is with us is 6ft) like their mother, they are to pay the same price as a full grown man. With all this craziness , we decided to find another place to have dinner , where we would not be paying 43.99 per child, to feed our babies. If you haven’t been this is just an FYI before you go. Might be the place to go if you’re a shorter person 🤷🏽♀️ sad part is , we have been there plenty of times , with our family about 10 of us and didn’t mind paying the 25-30 or whatever it costs before today, For the kids meals and 40 for us adults with the 18% automatic gratuity that’s added to any table who orders the all you can eat , no matter if it’s 2 people or 10 people , and before you say we should’ve ordered them something from the kids menu… that isn’t an option. If one person orders the all you can eat , everyone at the table must as well 🙄 food is good but the new prices are ridiculous!! Went up 3.99 for adults , which was not a big deal , but 99 for small /tall...
Read moreSEAFOOD LOVERS DO NOT GO HERE!! yes the buffet sounds nice at a great deal for a 2hr 30$ price but if u can eat more than $30 worth ,the owner ( tall asian man with bleached hair on top and muscular face)which I believe does the cooking, will start to reduce your portion size, regardless of your specail order. He will give u servings 20-30 mins apart. And most concerning he will rise the temp of the food to where u may burn yourself by touching the shells. Causing more time to eat it.. When I first started going the portions were great and the snow crab was regular size..NOW after the owner has taken notice that my small family of 2 can eat, we have been getting served what seems to be the bottom of the case seafood.. If you are a crab lover you know exactly what I'm talking about. After spending the amounts of money and supporting their consistantly vacant restaurant just to be treated like my dollar doesn't matter makes me consider filing suit. ...here's why, the last time I visited I noticed he was pulling these antics, tiny crab legs, burning hot food, missing items ordered I went up to the desk to ask to speak with the owner..he told me in clear English he did not want to speak to me. And he will call police of i dont pay..And walked away behind the curtain...the server tried to excuse his behavior bu saying he doesnt speak english!!Excuse me!! My coat was still at my table and phone. Lets note he spoke clear english to disregard me.I do security for our local NFL Team in Arlington.Money was mot the issue. For him to threaten me instead of address my concern was true evidence of discrimination and this business owner is violating consumer and civil rights. I did not want this to be about race but there was a table of 4 Asian customers and there crab was nowhere as small and were receiving excellent service. There used to be a young Mexican boy who worked there that I would tip generously because he said he works there for his room and board, after the owner offered him a room in his home but they do not pay him. He told me he was going back to visit Mexico and would be back and has not been back since. It been 2 months..I dont blame him
Owner: You should be ashamed of yourself using and abusing your employees and customers..To save a dollar!!!You are Disgusting!! Again SEAFOOD LOVERS DO...
Read moreIf I was able to give half stars I would give a 3.5. I think they do a lot of things right and living close we will probably be back to see if it was just a bad day. First, I love king crab so we ordered that with the house seasoning hot. We also ordered lobster, crawfish, and sausage. It was evident with the first bite that their boil is not seasoned. The crab was overcooked and didn't have any flavor. The sauce saved it, because we loved the sauce but I didn't end up finishing the legs and moved to the crawfish. The crawfish was the same, no flavor unless you dipped it in the sauce. We eat this meal a lot at other seafood boil restaurants (so much so that we bring our own tools) so we're disappointed in the lack of flavor. Service was slow. When our server disappeared, We tried to get the bartenders attention for a few more beers and thought he acknowledged us but no drink came. Eventually I wiped off my hands and went up and found someone to order. The last fail was the birthday shot. I was so excited to order this shot with the flame on top. It's advertised with a flame in the picture and the description. It came to the table with no flame, so I asked and was told they couldn't find a lighter. So I took it anyway. It tasted good but I bought it for fun and was disappointed. I know, silly, but I like gimmicky stuff when out eating. Don't make it an option if you aren't going to do it right. And if you have to come short, acknowledge that when you bring it to the table. I will say that the lobster was awesome, it was also overcooked but it was sitting in that amazing sauce and because it was small it almost tasted grilled. The sausage was very good. Probably my favorite thing this visit. I think a little work needs done in the service and if they can get some of those amazing spices into the boil so that the seafood has flavor, I think we'd frequent it more since it's close. It is...
