I was in town visiting a dear friend to help her plan her wedding and she recommended we order delivery from this place as she loves it and she knows I enjoy Indian food. It was a perfect fit for an easy Friday night dinner after a long day of travel! I'm not sure if this restaurant offers delivery or if she just used DoorDash. And given that it was delivery, I can't speak to the atmosphere (the chandelier looks beautiful in photos though!) or the service, though I will say our order was correct and delivered quickly! To accommodate all the bridesmaids and family members present, we got two orders of butter chicken, two orders of chicken tikka masala, one chicken josh, and one lamb rogan josh, with butter naan to share. About 6 cartons of rice came with our order. Everything we got was solid! I tasted everything except the lamb -- not a huge fan of lamb. Portions were comparable to other Indian restaurants I've had carryout from in the past. Only one dish - the tikka masala - had even a hint of spice to it, even though I'm pretty sure my friend ordered everything at medium heat. Who knows, though, she might've asked for mild just to ensure everyone was comfortable. I did think the butter naan was a little on the dry side, but nothing a soak in some sauce couldn't fix. Overall, I liked the tikka masala the best, then the chicken josh, then the butter chicken. Butter chicken was a little on the sweet side for me. Still, if I lived in the area, I would certainly keep this place in mind as a good option for Indian food!

First time trying Indian food in my 30 years of living and I’m upset I haven’t tried it earlier. LOVED everything I ate and will be coming back sooner than later! Started off with veggie Samosas and they were 9/10! I usually always eat meat so the concept of a dish “missing” it is foreign to me. The puff pastry itself was SO good. Flakey, buttery and had a nice crisp mouth feel to it. In addition, the stuffing was flavorful and delicious. Will go back to try the ones with chicken inside… The chili momos were good, but compared to the pictures I’ve seen online, it was underwhelming. Highlight was the sauce they were tossed in. It was sweet and flavorful. Felt like the spice was going to come in and make me sweat but never did. Overall not bad, but do not care for them. 7.5/10 Butter chicken was divine. Enjoyed every bite and couldn’t stop eating it. Whether it was with their delicious garlic naan or with the plain basmati rice, I kept eating it. Creamy, flavorful and delicious. Chicken was tender and cooked just right. 10/10 ***don’t have anything to compare it to so 10/10*** Goat curry was… well… GOATED. Fall off the bone meat, hearty, mild spice to it and overall scrumptious. Like the butter chicken, I kept dipping naan in it. 9/10 Overall enjoyed my experience here and will be coming back to try other dishes like biryani and aloo gobi!!

Our request for mild spice level was dutifully honored. Didn't realize that the request would eliminate aromacity in the selections we made from the quintessential fast food entrees. The Chole Bhature was dialed to my preferences: properly fried (with zero drops of oil clinging to the surfaces and no trace of raw flour), soft and, of course, above all tasty. The best compliment is that "it was just like home cooking!" No fuss, just enjoy it. The Chole could have (or should have) let the chick peas stand out but unfortunately it was smothered in a sauce that tasted similar to the Samosa Chaat that was ordered separately. The latter apparently did not receive "fixins" treatment because the appearance had not been layered. There was definitely a genuine Samosa (a.k.a. Punjabi size) beneath the topping. Finally, the Shrimp Pakora was more like a mini Shrimp Tempura a la North India than a Pakora. One does not marinate Pakora and there was conformance here. However allowing marinade to penetrate protein improves the appetizer's role better. Plus a multi-layer approach to breading works wonders with crisp frying. Nice clean place to enjoy meals at one's pace - mine is always leisurely.

My husband (born and raised in India), our 16 month old son, and I dined here on Saturday 4/30. Here’s what we found:

We had a chicken starter marinaded in malai (I don’t remember the name!). It was tender, flavorful, and is served with a wonderful green chutney. The butter chicken was creamy and well seasoned. It was very tasty, nostalgic. My son loved this dish especially- he ate so much. Garlic naan was fluffy and cooked properly. My husband ordered the lamb dhamaka balti. This is a dish that is served in a balti, a bucket, and was described by the owner as being unique in that it uses much different spices than other curries. This dish was outstanding. I recommend to try any of the balti dishes; we enjoyed this so much we ordered an extra to-go. My husband wanted to be sure I added that this is the closest dish to North Indian dhaba food that he’s had in the states. I ordered ras malai and it was wonderful. Obviously homemade with a delicate rose water flavor. Delicious. My husband had mango pudding. He shared with my toddler, who was obsessed and ate half of it on his own. They had to have another bowl (and they finished that one too!)

We learned that all the spices are ground in house and everything made from scratch and you can seriously taste that. The service is organized, attentive, and super friendly. It’s obviously a small family business and they're doing everything right.

We had such a great experience at Tandoori Flame and we will be...

Texas has a pretty bad selection when it comes to Indian food. Having eaten at fantastic restaurants in New York and the UK, coming home is always a bit sad because the Indian food is so bland.

Tandoori Flame has changed that for me, at least mostly. I've only tried two dishes here so far but I always start with the Chicken Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken at a new Indian restaurant as a basic litmus test. They don't really have the former so I went with the Butter Chicken and it was awesome! Maybe not quite as good as some of the best I've had, but by Texas standards this place is simply great.

Large portion sizes of sauce, meat, rice, and naan, I always have a little leftover and I'm stuffed. The meat is curiously cut into long thin slices rather than the traditional cubes, not really a complaint just an observation. The Naan was generously sized but a bit too thin and crispy the first time, and perfect and fluffy second time so your mileage may vary.

The staff's English seems a bit weak but they're very friendly and helpful.

The establishment is a bit plain and lacking in personality, but it's very clean and spacious.

On a global scale this place would be a 4/5 for me, but living in Texas where finding good Indian food the last decade has been like finding water in a desert, this gets a 5/5 for me. Thank you for saving me from all of the other bad...
