First I'd like to start off by praising the impeccable customer service and appreciation that Bep-Pa owners' Chris and his wife show to all their patrons. I truly appreciate this as a customer as it is rare these days that you receive this type of appreciation from restaurant staff and owners. Chris and his wife are extremely grateful for their customers and the support of their small, local business. I often get to speak with Chris while we dine in and he has a lot of knowledge that he is happy to share with you regarding any questions you may have about the delicious Vietnamese/Asian menu and ingredients they use. He displays such patience, kindness, and a genuine interest when conversing with us. We always enjoy the waiters as well, and while there may be new faces frequently with the ongoing labor shortage and difficulty finding workers, they are always pleasant and it is nice to get to know each one of them and chat a bit. Another thing to admire is the friendly smiles and gratitude you will encounter upon entering Bep-Pa and on your way out as well. I truly appreciate the service that Chris, his wife and staff show to all patrons. They truly care about making each individual's experience memorable and meaningful. And you can be sure that if you ever encounter an issue, they are quick and generous in resolving.
Now, for the delicious Vietnamese and Asian fare... We absolutely LOVE the Shumai dumplings to start - that's our go to. And as far as appetizers go, we have also tried the Gyoza, Egg Rolls, and Kim Chi and everything was incredibly flavorful, fresh and delicious. As for soups, I absolutely love the Wonton Soup. A family member of mine really enjoys the Tom Kha soup and though I have not tried it myself, I must say it looks and smells heavenly!
Now for the main dishes, it's always hard to choose just one because they are all so yummy, but a few must tries are definitely the Phở (the authentic, hot, homemade broth is bursting with flavor!), Cơm Chiên (what real fried rice is supposed to taste like!), Red Curry, Green Curry, and Pad Thai. I really cannot wait to try more, but so far I'm hooked on those dishes and it is hard to venture off when I crave my favorites over and over again!
I also wanted to mention as far as beverages go, we love a few of the hot teas we have tried so far such as the Hyeonmicha, Tin Koon Yin, and Oolong. As for iced teas, the Thai Tea is a MUST!
As far as desserts go, we are always too full to try, but will make an effort to in future visits!
Bottom line is this - Bep-Pa is an authentic Vietnamese/Asian fare restaurant with a whole lot to offer! This is includes exceptional and super friendly service with kind and caring owners and staff, and phenomenal food with tons of flavor and taste.
Let us all be welcoming and supportive to the owners and staff at Bep-Pa and thank them for bringing a different cuisine and experience to a city that often lacks authentic cultural food and exceptional customer service! If you have not tried them yet, please consider Bep-Pa for your next meal out. You will not regret the experience and food. And please, if there are any concerns you may have, please do not hesitate to bring it to Chris' attention. He is extremely understanding, generous, and quick to answer and resolve any of your questions...
Read moreI love this restaurant very much. I went here about a month ago to lunch out with my cousin, and I'm very particular about where I go eat my Pho and other things of sorts, so she dragged me out anyways just to try. 😭
Starting with the service, it was very good. Our waitress was very nice and she corrected any mistakes made from the kitchen, there only being one because he meatball was missing from my cousin's pho. She was very nice and apologetic about it.
The food was very good. We started with shrimp shumai, which is essentially steamed shrimp dumplings. The way they were cooked was perfect. The outside of the dumpling wasn't rubbery and floppy, and the inside was cooked thoroughly and had good flavor. The sweet tea was also very southern, so very good
I ordered the Korean Rice Bowl (Bimimbap). I was excited to try kimchi since I'd never had it before, and it was amazing. I'd researched it beforehand but never had anywhere to taste it, but as far as I know, it was exactly how it should've been. Crunchy and tasty with a little bit of spice. It blended together perfectly with the other flavors of the bowl, and I appreciate the fresh lettuce. The crunch and taste were perfect. The vegetables are also fresh, and the rice is cooked perfectly. For my meat in the bowl, I got bulgogi. It was seasoned and cooked very well too, and complimented the other ingredients well.
About the atmosphere, sure, it could use a little work here and there, but the decorations are very pretty. It's a lil calm spot, with a very homey feeling. It gave me something to comment about, obviously. The staff are very nice and I appreciated my meal very much. 🙇🙇
TL:DR - this place is amazing, if you like...
Read moreI LOVE this place!!!! This is authentic Vietnamese food. I also love that the owner posts videos about the flavors and ingredients for those who want to try something new, but aren't sure if they would like it. I love a place that has picture menus, and online reviews/pictures, but the videos take it to another level.
We have had tons of different menu items and I have never been disappointed. The sushi is also delicious. My daughter loves the pho. She asks be to bring her here all the time.
This is a hidden gem! It may seem a little hidden in the Food Lion shopping center on Union Road, but don't let that keep you away. Because it is cooked in a fresh, authentic way, it can take a little longer for large parties which I was fine with because the food was fantastic. Otherwise the service is great and the food comes out fast. I have also ordered to-go and it was ready quickly.
I love non-chain restaurants like this, and I hope you all make this a regular stop, because we need to keep restraunts like this in business in our community. You will not be...
