I wanted to try out this new restaurant since I was craving tamales and pupusas. Let me tell you, I was really disappointed and sad with the outcome.
I originally wanted to order chicken tamales, but they said they don’t have any due to not many people wanting them. Ok, that’s fine, they had plenty of other options on the menu.
I ordered 2 pupusas, one with pork and one with pork and cheese. Barely any of them had any meat or cheese in it, it was literally dough. I was so disappointed because this isn’t the first time I’ve had pupusas. One of my pupusas was drenched in the red/purple onion and beet sides that they included. I could not even eat that pupusa. There goes my money and half of my lunch.
Second, the price. Two pupusas costed me almost $10, but I did tip. I tipped because they recently opened 2 weeks ago and I wanted to support local businesses. I regret my decision of trying this place out, and I should’ve gone to Don Pedro instead. I will not be eating at Mi Bella Honduras...
Read moreI enjoy trying new restaurants and didn’t know what to expect here but saw good ratings so we stopped in. We weren’t familiar with Honduran food options and there were a lot to choose from. We went simple and loved it.
I got a folded tortilla (I don’t know the Honduran name for it now) that included scrambled eggs, avocado and a sauce for $7. It was excellent and filling. My friend had a similar wrap with ham that tasted very good too. They were perfect portions to not over eat yet fill your belly. Ordering 2 would have been too much.
The atmosphere and prices are similar to a Mexican restaurant and I admired the parrot themed decor.
We were seated promptly and the service was excellent. The server checked on us a few minutes after we received our food which I expect and appreciate. Both the ladies and men’s restrooms were clean. This is definitely a place we will go back to experience more of the Honduran...
Read moreIf you are looking to taste the wonders of Central America, look no further! These Hondurean restaurants are the place to go. If you like fried chicken, I recommend El Pollo con Tajadas. We also ordered 3 Carne Asadas, and let me tell you that the meat was tender and deliciously cooked well. The rice, beans, don't forget the red onions that you can eat with anything. Everything was freshly made. It is pricey, but the quality and quantity give you a lot for your money. There are 2 other spots in Gastonia, but this one is winning so far. I hope they keep it up with the same quality of food. The place is fully renovated, and it's great for the whole family. It does have a bar for a waiting area while you wait for your order or wait to be seated. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I made my purchase on Sunday, April 28th, 2024. Keep it up, Mi Bella...
