After multiple pleasant experiences at Barney’s in the past, I was saddened by the way I (and my family) was treated by the staff, and in particular, the owner. Upon arriving with my party of 16 on a Sunday evening, I was confronted by the owner who informed me that we were to leave because they were short-staffed and unable to serve us. While that statement would have sufficed, he continued to brashly blame us for not calling ahead, curse at us, and cast us out of the establishment. My children, nieces, and nephews witnessed this awful behavior, and I was forced to explain to my young children why we were turned away and why I was yelled at by a grown man.
While I understood the concern regarding serving my large party, a more appropriate way to handle the situation would have been to explain that the food and service would be slow, apologize for the inconvenience, and leave it up to us as to whether we wanted to endure the wait or go elsewhere.
I’m not writing this review with an expectation that the owner will right his wrong. It is clear from the other negative reviews that Barney’s has no concern for properly addressing unhappy customers. In fact, other recent reviews here indicate that my experience is sadly becoming the norm. Rather, I hope that my post will prevent future customers from enduring the humiliation of being yelled at in public by a man who doesn’t even...
Read moreIf you’re reading this, don’t waste your time here. If you’re not a regular, they don’t care about you. Enjoy waiting forever to get served, even if they are slow. Most of the bartenders there will look at you and turn around and walk away. Hello? You know I want a drink, you see my money out, why are you ignoring me? Is it because I’m a female and don’t give you as big of a tip as that wasted 18 year old kid at the end of the bar you’ve served all night? Let’s talk about the food. Overpriced and the only flavor I get is SALT. It’s disgusting. Let’s also talk about the owner, he’s garbage and thinks his s* doesn’t stink. Here’s a reality check. You may be the owner of a business but you have NO CLUE how to run it or talk to your customers. In an age of information readily available, you should learn how to react and respond! Figure out your rules and apply it to EVERYONE, not just who you want. I used to love going to Barney’s, but now, NO WAY. This place will never get another dime from me, my family and any friend I can convince. In a town with breweries and three other bars (one is outside of town with slot machines) there’s many other options for what you’re looking for. I wrote this for you, the person reading it in hopes you take your hard earned money to a bar or one of the breweries that actually...
Read moreWorked here 4 years. The owner might pretend to be friendly but most of the time when new customers come in he has nothing to do but complain behind their backs usually asking why they would come in or asking why big groups would even bother to come in or even just making fun of their physical appearance. I've never heard him say a good thing about any of the regulars like, guns, clavine, the gordmans, mills, or anyome else and I've heard him gossip or say something extremely rude and unprofessional about every person who has ever worked for him including Amy, jordan, Anna, Morgan,Todd, myself, and all his other bar staff except Sarah. That being said according to bartenders and customers there my boss here stole money from my checks and I constantly heard him and the staff harassing me even though I was the only one in the kitchen at night. The atmosphere here is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend coming for a drink, to...
