Had a chance to stop by this amazing place today and pick up some yummy goodness. I really like the staff, the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and when I told him it was my first time there he gave me the complete rundown of things. That apple fritter I have is huge, I can't eat this thing in one sitting. It is soft and has plenty of apples in it. I will return for another after I finish this beast.
Thank you to the lady behind me that suggested I try the ummm fried glazed croissant (forgive me, I forgot the name). Oh my goodness I could eat a dozen of those things.
I had the 3C sandwich which was a bit of a let down. The flavor was really great but the first bite of the chicken was downright disgusting, I thought I had found a bone. I pulled that piece out to only repeat it again. The roll is great and the cheese and chipotle flavor compliment the sandwich really well but the piece of chicken I had really destroyed that experience. I'll try it again in the future, hopefully the sandwich can redeem itself.
Next on my list is to try is the breakfast burrito. When the gentleman working the counter explained it I was torn between that and the chicken sandwich.
I'm still rating this place a 5/5 for the customer service and the sweets. I'll be back to experience more of the menu though. Keep up the great work.
Round 2:
Went back the next day and ordered some more yummy goodness. This time I had the bacon breakfast burrito on tomato basil...... I regret buying one. Wish I had purchased 3, it was so good and did not disappoint. I was contemplating going back for more after I left. Great staff again this morning. I was greeted as I walked in at 6am by the staff. I bought some of these bad boys today too. I ate one then went to bed after a long night. I hope my wife and son didn't finish them off. Keep up the great work, I'll be back to try the chicken sandwich eventually. Next on the list, more...
Read moreSo I tried. I probably will go back but not as much as planned. My co workers have given them such positive reviews so I said I'd try them. The first time I went the customer service was decent it was the weekend and the lady was younger and a bit more cheerful. When I went during the week there is always this lady there who has this attitude that is rudish...it's like she's annoyed a little...not horrible but def not service with a smile...it really goes a long way...idk if she's an owner or manager or what but she is there often...(maybe thats why she seems annoyed when folks try to give them money/business) ...idk...anyway...the donuts are better than dunkin...actually not bad... I like the different options...(but everything is not always available) kolaches are good if you don't want to make them yourself... I've had so much better but I appreciate them selling kolaches bc I've never seen em anywhere else in the csra... Do not come here for any type of coffee drink tho...unless it's just regular black coffee and/or with milk or cream... Everything I've tried is not made properly 😕 not sweet enough, too sweet, not enough coffee or no coffee (frappes should have coffee and she put none in it) too much powder, syrup, just not right... It.is a donut shop not a coffee shop ...keep that in mind !!! Anyway...Blessings to...
Read moreAustin native living in Georgia for 4 years who was very excited to learn about kolaches being served at Belair Donuts. I came around 7:30am on a Friday morning; the cashier was very pleasant and we chatted for a minute about my quest to find kolaches, at which point she explained that the shop makes them "Texas-style".
I really wanted to like the kolaches, but found them extremely lacking in flavor, texture, and technique. The breading was close, but not fluffy or yeasty enough. The sausages were tough and chewy, similar to hot dogs as I have seen in a few other reviews. Traditional Texas-Czech cheese kolaches have cheese baked inside with the sausage, not over top, and the spicy kolaches are meant to have jalapeno baked inside, not a dusting of chili powder (genuinely super confused by this choice, as it simply does not taste good and is an overwhelming amount of spice clumped into one spot). I do think the recipe is somewhat close but could use some tweaking to be more authentic.
The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were all friendly, energetic, and happy to help. I loved the smell and the bustling early morning vibes. There is a decent sized menu so I will definitely be back to try more items, but I don't think I will be ordering the...
