I am the wife of the person named above. I am answering this survey because he hates surveys. Sorry. I am a senior citizen and not good with technology. I get too frustrated with online ordering. I tried. It did not work out for me. Although, I admit it was likely my lack of tech knowledge. SO, I CALLED in about 20- 25 min before I expected to arrive. That is all but.useless... example:. either no answer or you are put on hold or you get disconnected. SO with NO luck there AND I had arrived at the restaurant before I could even get phone service, I went inside. There were NO customers at the register and NO employee(s) behind the counter. Meanwhile a line started forming behind me. A clerk finally shows up. I said "I'd like to place a To-Go order please." She said "It will be a few minutes because I have to call up a server. If you'll move to the side over there, someone will be right out.* to which I said " ok". I waited patiently... VERY patiently and no server appeared. I am HANDICAPPED and it is fairly obvious that I have a lot of difficulty breathing, standing and walking. YOU NEED A BENCH OR CHAIRS BY YOUR TO GO STATION! I felt like I was going to fall over because my legs got weak. Again, NO employee(s )at the counter to ask for help. I waved at the Hostess and she came over. I explained that a server had NEVER shown up and I desperately needed to sit down and why. Instead of going to get a chair because I was obviously in distress, she led me on a walk to the dining room and sat me at a table. A couple of minutes later, a server came to me and led me BACK to the To-Go station. He was very polite and efficient with taking my order and quickly returned to the kitchen to place the order. Once again I am barely able to stand up at the To-Go podium... waiting. The server was rather quick with my order. BUT THERE WAS A LINE OF 5 CUSTOMERS AND I WAS SENT TO THE BACK OF THE LINE!!!!! May I suggest that you have a designated employee AT THE To-Go podium to take your order, place the order, deliver the order back to the podium and be able to accept payment. *THAT WOULD BE GOOD, EFFICIENT CUSTOMER SERVICE WHETHER YOUR CUSTOMER IS HANDICAPPED OR NOT. *. WHAT A CONCEPT!! This was NOT an isolated incident at just this store. We avail ourselves of MANY Cracker Barrel's near home and when traveling. This is the 3rd time this and something similar has happened in the last couple of years. THAT is why I felt the need to explain at length. Thank you for listening. Mrs....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went to Cracker Barrel on Sunday, May 12th: Mother's Day. I was expecting it to be overwhelmingly crowded, balls-to-the-wall busy. And there was a crowded parking lot and a mess of people waiting outside. While I parked the car, my sister went inside and got us on the wait list. She was told that it would be a two hour wait. We called the rest of our party and asked if they wanted to try someplace else, but we all decided that every other restaurant would probably be just as busy. So my sister and I resigned ourselves to a long, boring wait in those overpriced rocking chairs they have out front. It wasn't too bad; I read the book I was into, "The Book That Wouldn't Burn," and my sister played games on her phone. They called our name in much less than the quoted time and my sister and I were seated, still waiting on my parents and my niece and her husband. We got drinks and my sister got up to use the restroom...and met the rest of the crew coming in. Our waitress noticed that they had joined us and quickly got them drinks, too. She came back, took our orders and went off to put them in. I can't remember her name, but it was some Southern double name like Haley Joe or Mary Sue or something like that. I do remember that she had five gold stars on her apron and watching her work her section. She seemed to be all over everything, attentive to each table. Our food came after a long, somewhat expectedly, time. I noticed that mine at least had obviously sat in the window for a while and my mashed potatoes weren't as hot as they should have been. My sister and mom also had lukewarm parts of their meals. The flavors were spot on, exactly the kind of pseudo-Southern-home cooking I expected ( and remembered from my time working there a bazilion years ago.) Overall, it was a pretty decent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Cracker Barrel it's my favorite! I go at least once a week Last night was not a good night. Maybe it's because I came late, 8-9pm hour. Maybe they were short staffed. Maybe the waitress was new. I'm not sure what was happening. One of my pet peeves is when waitresses don't take the trash away from the tables. Cracker Barrel has tiny tables anyway so the less distractions, the better. I asked several times for her to take the trash & maybe she didn't hear me. I just ended up leaving it at the edge of the table in hopes she would get the message. I know before I walk into the restaurant it's going to be that way. I've never had a waitress in Cracker Barrel take the trash without being told. We asked for a plate of biscuits be delivered early while we wait for our food. We had to ask twice. They were out of the seasonal fried turkey dishes & out of the potluck dinner that they only serve on Sundays. So I ordered my GoTo dish of hamburger steak smothered in gravy & onions. "Smothered" is not the word I would have used last night. Very little gravy & very little onions. I told her I didn't want it bleeding. She said medium is what I want. What I received was a hamburger steak that was bloody all the way thru. The temperature was lukewarm. I ordered the loaded sweet potato because they were out of sweet potato casserole. The potatoe came too cold. It wouldn't even melt a patty of butter! Same with the biscuits. They weren't warm enough to even melt the butter. My Son got chicken pot pie with a side of corn & carrots. His was fine. Maybe I should have ordered what he got! I still love Cracker Barrel & I will still continue to go. I've never had an experience this bad. It's always wonderful when I go & the food is always hot. I will continue to go because they are my...
