El Guero Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Georgia

My first visit to El Guero was a quick lunch of street tacos with my 80+ y.o. Dad . Delicious. So much so that I brought the family back for Sunday lunch after church 2 days later. Then the pandemic hit and we ordered some take out. My son repeated his church order of the pollo torta. I was like really, a sandwich, do you u want anything else? Nope it’s plenty. A 21 year old just said a sandwich was plenty. So today we decided we needed to support this neighborhood hot spot as best we can and I decided let’s see what he’s talking about and ordered the carnitas torta. What you have here, is the textbook definition of a hole in the wall. Nestled between a nail salon and a pet store you'll find this very small Mexican Grill. This place is a recent addition to the neighborhood and I finally had the chance to go here and try it out. I was not disappointed, the food tastes about on par with what you can expect from most other restaurants in the area, but where this restaurant really shines is their staff. Though this is a relatively small restaurant, it was incredibly busy while we were there and their small staff was doing everything in their power to handle the needs of all patrons and they were rocking it. Soooo gave their place a try twice. The food and price is decent for the area. Both times I went, I got the impression, since I'm not white, I kept getting looked over. The first visit I was like ok I'm being sensitive, but no, both times, I was the first one standing to be seated and people who came in after me were sat and helped. Literally, they look you in the face and would proceed to help the person behind me...who everytime...happened to be white. Won't be coming back, I mean the food was not memorable, but it's a convenient location to dine, but I will be going out of my way to Rustico where everyone's money is...
