Unfortunately you have to leave at least a one star rating to post a review...☹️ I will preface my review by saying that I have only frequented the location on Cascade Road, so my review is limited to that location. Today, I arrived at the restaurant a few minutes before noon, as the restaurant was changing over from breakfast to lunch. So there was a little wait during the changeover, which is understandable. That being said, once the system was changed over, I was the very first person to order for lunch. In fact, my ticket number was 1. Let me not be remiss to mention that the Caucasian cashier was very nice, amenable, and respectful. I took my ticket and pulled up a seat to patiently to wait for my order. After about 20 minutes, I got a little concerned, it doesn't take that long to fry 10 wings...smh So, I go up to the counter to wait so that I can see the orders while they are being prepared. I see the cook line up three boxes and place wings in each of the boxes, so I am assuming, at least one of those boxes has to be mine, since I was the very first person to order!
Incidentally, while am watching the cook prepare the wings, I notice a VERY agregious act of cross-contamination. While the cook is wearing gloves, he is handling both raw chicken and cooked French fries while wearing the same gloves. I don't know if the restaurant is aware, but handling raw chicken (which carries salmonella) and then touching cooked food can cause a customer food poisoning...smh
The first number called is number 6 to which I respond, "Hey, I was number 1! How is it that number 6 is ready, and number 1 was never called?!" The man behind the counter looked, dumbfounded, like he was oblivious to my question, at which point, I responded, "Forget it, I will just get my money back!" So, I went back to the counter and explained, to the woman who checked me out, what happened. I further stated that I felt like I should receive a free meal. To which the woman at the cash register responded, "You are absolutely right! I will take care of this. She refunded my money, and told the cook to still prepare my meal.
There were about five people working in the kitchen at the time, but the only person who seemed even remotely concerned was the woman at the register, everyone else was nonchalant and cavalier.
Needless to say, I did NOT eat the French fries.
As an attorney who practices in Georgia, I have always tried to treat all of my clients respectfully and with the utmost respect and courtesy. I would love to say that service such as that which I experienced today was rare, but unfortunately it is all too common. You see, I live on a side of town predominated by African-Americans, which I am also. Far too many times businesses have felt that minorities can be treated any kind of way, and they will continue to patronize the businesses nonetheless. Unfortunately I have found this ideology to be true. People do not realize that if you accept sub-par customer service, that is what you will continue to receive, sub-par service or worse...
But, as for me, you can count me out, I definitely will NOT be patronizing GutBusters on Cascade Road...
Read moreGut Busters was one of a few places I visited to eat out, largely in part because they almost always had their mask, however yesterday when I visited their establishment none of the cooks had on masks, however they were all laughing and talking over the food that they were preparing for others to consume. I kindly asked the cashier to have them put their mask on and remake my food. One of the cooks starts screaming how hot it was and how he's more afraid of me having Covid then I should be of him, I stated to him the difference is that I'm not only on the other side of the counter with a mask on, I'm not preparing your food. The cook continues to yell and talk and suddenly the manager comes from the back and decided to try and make a public spectacle of me by screaming, IF YOU GONNA PREACH YOU CAN LEAVE". I looked around confused and asked was he talking to me as there where others in the restaurant that were taken aback by the cook screaming and yelling, as they were in agreement that he should have on his mask. Understandably this is a lengthy post, but I wanted to give UPPER MANAGEMENT OR OWNER'S to get a clear understanding why I gave this establishment a 1star. I was a fan initially, however they way I was treated yesterday was totally uncalled for. If the customers are required to wear a mask, so should staff! With Covid going on you have to be very careful of what you consume and who's preparing it as droplets carry the virus! You shouldn't be talking and laughing over the food people have to consume and you don't have on a mask PERIOD! As for me, I won't be returning to a place that myself as well as my coworkers visited several times a week. I will not spend my money to be disrespected by anyone who doesn't have my best interest at heart and took the opportunity to try and be a comedian. Business are struggling to keep their doors open, you should take this more serious instead of trying to embarrass...
Read moreI have been a frequent customer to this establishment for years now. I either come in person or order online at least once a week. However, today will be my last time ordering from here when ordering online, there is nowhere to request if you want sauce or extra sauce on your grits. so I called and asked if they could add it on my grits from my $25 Uber eats order. The lady told me that that was not possible because there was no way for me to pay for the scoop of sauce. Mind you I have never been charged for a little bit of the sauce, put on my grits in all of the years that I have come there. However I would actually pay for it because I don’t like my grits without it. It’s one of the reasons that I order from there because I like the sauce from the shrimp on top of my grits. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and although I’m sure the restaurant does not care, they’ve definitely lost a customer in me. If the 50 cents That I probably would’ve been charged for a little scoop of sauce would make a break this restaurant I’d prefer just to leave it alone. It’s very disappointing how bad service has gotten...
