This McDonald's just can't seem to get it together. I only have ever really been here in the morning/very early afternoon so I can speak for this shift only.
Dine-In experience: It's located on a relatively quiet part of town and only ever seems to get moderately busy, though judging from the chaotic line inside and visibly frantic and confused employees you wouldn't be able to tell. Seriously, these employees DO NOT handle a fast-paced environment well and become obviously flustered the second they have to multi-task. I've heard the shift manager (woman with glasses and a blonde pony tail) multiple times loudly complain "I don't know how we're gonna do it/so-and-so called out/oh my god the drive thru line is wrapped behind the building" etc like she always gets stressed out and doesn't set a good tone for her fellow employees. A couple of their cashiers have trouble operating the order screen a register. You have to speak SLOWLY or you confuse them. Make sure they repeat your order back cause they will mess it up. Check your receipts always. While waiting for you order, you WILL hear multiple employees getting upset, groaning, huffing and puffing, complaining and bickering. There's a order screen monitor above the counter where you pick your food up that is turned and faced behind the counter towards the employees. I've seen this screen at every other location turned to the customers so they can see how their order is coming along. But you can't see anything here. The employees don't even call out order numbers or place order number receipts under each bag. They call out "sausage busicut with hashbrown" for example, which makes things confusing because lots of people order that. So no one really knows which bag is there's. And sometimes bags pile up, making it more confusing. Earlier today I ordered breakfast, and was waiting for my bag of food at the counter amongst other bags piling up. A young brunette shift manager with her hair in a bun asked what my order was, and when I told her my order number she very rudely said that she meant what I ordered, like she didn't even keep track of order numbers at all and had know clue what was going on at that counter. Like she would rather wait and listen to me name off my entire order vs keeping yo with order numbers and receipts like they do at every other McDonald's I've ever been to. But I told her anyway, and she's like okay yours isn't here. After forever, she checked the bags again and what do you know, that was my bag THE WHOLE TIME sitting there getting cold. She just hadn't noticed everything in the bag the first time she checked. Again, they should be going by order numbers. But I guess they'd prefer to be inefficient. Some cashiers often become lost when a customer orders a simple coffee drink (extra shot of espresso is the only special request I do) and it's happened before that they have no idea how to even ring that up so they have to wait for help. This woman wasn't new either. Be prepared to repeat your drink two or three times, and again, always have them read it back to you. They are usually so far behind coffee drink orders so if you get one, be prepared to wait even longer.
Drive Thru: extremely long wait times during unbusy times. The woman taking orders has been rude more than once. For example, I once asked how much a particular coffee drink cost, to which she literally replied "uh, I dunno, 3 something." During the same order, she loudly yelled in my ear at the other employees to be quiet. That was a first.
For real, this location sucks. It's hilariously bad. I don't know who the franchise owner is or why they hire this way but it's a patten. It isn't just ONE or TWO unfortunate employees, it's a large chunk. Especially the ones up front. Again, I can only speak for the early shift. The only reason I come here is because the Pilot location up the road on 53 is hard to get in and out of due to semi trucks. This is a long post but after many times of exceptionally poor service and unacceptable behavior by employees it's long...
Read moreWhen we first started our food everything seemed fine we were on the road and went to the drive-thru headed to church pulled into a parking place to get our items organized so we can eat going down the road no napkins and being a senior and I have problems swallowing took my sandwich out it was not warm number one phone number to absolutely nothing on it just a piece of chicken and the bread had to back out of my parking place go back to the window and get them to put mayonnaise on my sandwich. Instead I don't know if they threw the sandwich away or put it back for the next person to come to the drive-through but had to wait for them to fix me another sandwich more time we did not need to lose on the road then they only put a little mayonnaise just on one side of the bread absolutely unacceptable should not ever be served as a dried sandwich I don't care if it's chicken fish or a burger mayonnaise helps people especially with problems swallowing as I have the young man at the window looked at me when I told him what we needed like he did not have a clue as to what to do it's obvious we were the topic of conversation because when they came back to the window we did not get the warm-and-fuzzy treatment that we did the first time through hello do your job represent McDonald's with pride and what you put out the window make sure your customers are taken care of not rushing this through like cattle at a cattle sale I know this may seem harsh and I don't normally do this but it was just the wrong time for my butt to be pushed and I could Overlook everything else but the piece of chicken between two pieces of bread no Pride whatsoever taken in...
Read moreSTOP PARKING ALL OF YOUR DRIVE THRU CUSTOMERS!!! Parking ALL of your cars means you care more about your #s than you do customer service. PARKING customers should only be done when an order is waiting on an item that will hold up customers who AREN'T waiting for that same item. As I sit in your Drive thru #1, you have ALL 5 reserved spots filled. As I sit in your drive thru, I have had to tell my order details to THREE different employees trying to get the right food to the right customers - thank you for that effort. This is lousy customer service, it's ineffective use of labor, and when a customer chooses your FAST FOOD restaurant, a large part of that decision is time - do I have TIME to wait 20+ minutes after you take my money??? -usually the answer is no. After giving my order details to the 3rd employee, I asked for the manager, only to have someone sent back out to tell me if I wanted to speak to the manager, I could go inside. Manager Helen, have respect for your customers and your staff. Face your customers instead of hiding behind your young employees that you are running instead of managing - this is poor leadership. I know business won't be impacted by this review, but I hope someone in charge sees the frustration and considers how they choose to...
