My family and I have been coming here since it first opened and we have absolutely loved eating their chicken! It is currently our favorite and #1 place for pollo a la brasa (peruvian rotisserie chicken) in GA. Although not the best peruvian restaurant overall, it surely beats all others only with their really outstanding chicken. If you want to find even better chicken, you'd have to go many hours away to other states. It's great priced, good quality (mainly the chicken), and well portioned.
Pollo a la brasa 9/10- It's really juicy and flavorful! It outranks other peruvian restaurants that offer pollo a la brasa in Georgia through its portion size and notable quality of authentic spices of the marinade flavor. The strong and greatly seasoned flavors from the spices is embedded deep into the chicken meat and is not just skin deep like other peruvian restaurants. It was bursting with all the right flavors but was missing the most authentic one, and that is the wood-fired smoky flavor that comes from using a wood fired oven instead of a regular oven. One thing I enjoyed a lot was that the fries were actually crunchy and not soggy like most other restaurants have them. They are not homemade and seem to be frozen fries but it's better than soggy fries. Like in any other restaurant, it can vary depending on their product inventory and who is cooking the fries. Despite that, the fries were not seasoned and rely on the sauces to make up for it.
Sauces 8/10- flavorful but not my favorite. The sauces have good herbal taste but lack other flavors and salt. It's the right flavor but just lacks a special touch. I recommend adding salt and a touch of zest from vinegar or a few drops of lemon. Regardless, it pairs well with the chicken and fries. The salad vinaigrette is delicious and well made.
Arroz chaufa side 2/10 - the thing I least recommend here. Although it looks delicious on picture, the flavor is bland. It's lacking everything that authentic peruvian fried rice would offer. They definitely focused on the quality of the chicken more...
Read moreIdk where these positive reviews are coming from because the chicken here is nasty . Full of fat and no flavor . Rice taste old , sauces aren’t saucing . Just gross . And these people don’t listen to directions. You ask and pay for extra sauce they don’t give the right amount. I ordered a WHOLE CHICKEN for my family and we only got 2 chicken breast . I ordered rice and fries I got nasty hard fried rice with old egg . No fries , just Yuka and plantain . The Yuka was tough and stale , not crispy at all . I guess the only “good” thing was the plantains (but how can anyone mess that up) . So disappointing. Wish I could get my dam money back . Smh never ever eating or ordering from here again and will definitely let people know...
Read moreA joy. The food at Picaso Chicken is simple but the flavors are rich and warm. A reflection of the owner and the clear passion he puts into his food. I write this review after visiting 3+ times and Picaso takes a seat in my top 5 places to eat here in Atlanta. The chicken is tender, slow roasted, and seasoned from crisp skin to bone. I love it.
Recommendations: Get a whole chicken with fries and a salad. Its simple as can be but such a wonderful experience. Grab a fry, a piece of chicken and one of the three incredible sauces included and enjoy a fantastic burst of flavor and texture that goes straight to the brain. Eating alongside an Inca Cola is also highly...
