This hotel has dramatically gone downhill from when we first started staying here a few years ago. Our last visit was so poor that we had to leave two days early and find another place down the road. We were in town for a concert in December and all was fine upon check in, then we got to the room and after a few minutes discovered roaches! The first one I can maybe overlook, the second and third? No thank you! We managed to kill them all and when I went to wash my hands, I discovered there was no hot water! None! Not lukewarm waiting to heat up, but ice cold in December water! There were no phones in the room to call down to the front desk to complain so I thought I'll walk on down! I did and the person on duty informed me that there are no phones in the rooms because the phone system was broken, it was at this time as well that I was informed that the hot water had been off since at least earlier that morning, but we were not informed of this upon check in! I asked to change rooms and was informed the only thing available was just s few doors down from our current room! That didn't guarantee we wouldn't have the same issue, with roaches! SO we slept in the room none the less and went to speak to the manager in the morning. Turns out, despite being informed they would be in in the morning they would NOT be coming in that day after all! But I did notice that the breakfast bar was still open! Despite no hot water on the premises to wash dishes, proper hand hygiene, wash linens….they were still operating as normal! The "assistant manager" informed me that she was boiling water to 100 degrees to wash the dishes, this despite the recommended temp of 120! She was quick to interject her self into a conversation that the desk clerk had handled to defend their poor performance and her rudeness only added the disappointment of the situation! Needless to say we won't be back, the lack of transparency about the issues upon check in as well as the rudeness from the assistant manager highlighted by roaches made our...

After a long drive when we went to check in the rude staff told us that we were not allowed to use my husband's credit card. Bear in mind that I called this hotel days before to double-check everything with our reservation.
And the reason why is because my name is on the booking, and my husband who has this exact same last name as me is not so we are trying to fraud the hotel out of money.
Even if this hotel is having issues with people taking advantage of them I feel it is very unfair to blame the guest that is staying in the hotel. The office worker asked for both of our IDs to which she saw that both of us have the same last name of course because we are married but this didn't matter. We even asked to talk to the manager who was not there and had to be spoken to on a phone and that did not matter either.
After stressing us out and basically almost making the both of us cry we had to log into booking.com and put a different name. This whole process is absolutely ridiculous and we were told that every hotel business which . This whole process is absolutely ridiculous and we were told that every hotel does this which is a lie. I can tell you it's a lie because I have now checked into two other hotels after this and none of them gave us any problems checking in with my husband's credit card.
There are no signs with this rule posted and it does not say this on the website for Holiday inn nor does it say this on booking.com. this was the worst check-in experience I've ever dealt with and it's magnified by us being exhausted from our travels. I will never stay in a Holiday inn Express again and I hope the management team gets reprimanded for treating us so bad. It's already hard enough having to go to a funeral for the death of a loved one but to have to deal with this in addition...
Read moreThis hotel is basic but will have everything you need for a quick stop to rest|The following is our experience trying to check in which ruined our experience at this hotel. ||When we tried to check in, we were told we couldn't use the card that we are required to put on file with Booking.com because the card is under my husbands name, and not my name. Here is the best part we have the same last name as we are married and we both presented the worker with both of our IDs but that wasn't enough. Even after talking with the manager, he gave my husband all kinds of excuses of why he would be unable to use the card on file.||Apparently there is a issue with charge backs at this hotel which is NOT the guest fault. It's really sad to put your business issues on a guest who is trying to check in for the night. We were also continually gasslit by the staff and manger (whom was on a phone and not in person) that ALL hotels do this. ||Funnily enough, I am writing this from another hotel that gave us no problem with check in using my husbands credit card, and we have stayed in over 5 hotels all booked through booking.com the same way. ||We almost left out of frustration, and I am still really surprised by this horrible lack of customer service. If you are having issues with charge backs welcome to owning a business. It is so unfair to take this out on your guests who are just trying to get some rest.||Some advice if this happens to you at this hotel, all you have to do is change the name on the third parties website, and apparently that's enough. We won't be back as there are plenty of other hotels in the area, and I hope no one else has to go through this ridiculousness when they try...
