I finally stopped in and I was not let down.
I am often in this area either at Sprouts, Target, or TJ MAXX— I know I have a shopping problem.. anyhow- I see this spot all the time and always think about stopping in but never do. This all changed last Saturday. I was in need of a meal while out and about and parked my car in the lot! Once I was parked I started to question if they were open because there were few cars around me and it appeared dark inside. However, I walked in and was surprised that they were indeed open. They had plenty of staff with 1 patron dinning in. I thought to myself “ I really hope they get more business than this on a Saturday!”
When I approached the counter to order- both of the staff were acting like they were super busy. One did speak and told me she would be with me in a minute. My only critique of this is that a front facing customer should always come first! I mean if you are just tidying up- you can tidy up when the customer leaves.
After waiting few minutes I started my journey of building a salad. This salad bar is like the one at whole foods, but on steroids! Most of the items looked fresh. I did request fresh arugula as the small amount remaining in the container did look wilted and old. There are so many options that if you are an indecisive person you may struggle. They do allow you to try items if you request. For example when it came time for me to select a protein I was struggling between two options so I was given a sample of both. I went with the herb crab meat- so good!! I also had an opportunity to try a few of the salad dressings. I did request these on the side, but you can have them mixed in.
This salad was probably one of the best salads I have ever eaten- and I did not even utilize the salad dressing! I don’t know what they do to make the salad taste better than the ones at home- but man - they have me wanting more ! As I type this I am planning my journey to go order another salad!
Please don’t sleep on this place— give it a try! There is no way you will...
Read moreWell I gave the food one star because I wasn’t able to try it. I ordered my food a head of time so I can get there and leave to be able to take some food for my dad before he left. When I got there I was 15 mins later than when I said I’ll pick it up. When I arrived I waited until someone asked it I was there to pick up an order I said yes. Told them my name then told me that they didn’t have it and walked away. Not letting me know if they were going to make it right away or anything. So I waited then another employee came up to me and asked me if I’m there to pick up I said yes told them my name she said she didn’t have the order so I showed her my app and I made sure with her If I was at the right location ( I was) because me being a general manager of a restaurant I know sometimes people place orders at another location. So she just walked away not letting me know if she was going to make my order or not then in the end another employee came and told me that they didn’t have it. So I was okay can you make it for me they told me no because they didn’t have the receipt. So I tried to show them my app so they know what I ordered but they kept telling me they couldn’t make it unless they had the receipt. For me it didn’t make sense because at my restaurant if a customer shows me their order and I verify is the right address date and time I’ll make their order right away. They just refused so when I asked for a refund after I just spent $30 for no reason, they told me they couldn’t and I had to call customer service. So when I looked up customer service they don’t even have a number so it forced me to send and email, not knowing if I’ll get that money back. I placed that order for 1 I didn’t leave that...
Read moreSalata Salata.... this salad kitchen is the best one I've been to...makes me forget about Sweet Tomato, Fresh 2 Go or any other salad restaurant I've been to. The building is nice, and the dining room and salad bar are immaculate. The whole atmosphere/design is very modern without the uppity, arrogant flair that today's craft kitchens/restaurants/bars are drowning us with. Even more surprisingly, the prices are more than affordable, as opposed to other super modern dining establishments who WILL charge you $39 for a salad that is 1/4th the size of Salata's. Upon entering, Mr. Keith was awesome. He explained the whole process and was patient with our selections, not to mention the ability to sample anything we wanted to, including the dressings and even the oversized cuts of meat for choosing. They have around ~55 veggie/topping choices and many different protein choices, all with different spice profiles. The tomato basil soup was creamy with a tangy kick and my other half's choice of white bean chipotle soup was very hearty and flavorful as well. Mr. Keith signed us up for the rewards program at checkout time and we walked to our tables with our mammoth $8 "Regular" sized salad. One regular salad could easily feed 2 or 3 mouths for dinner. The experience was nice and we didn't break the bank for two on a Wednesday lunch outing. Thanks Mr. Keith! A good attitude and patient service really goes a long way. Also, the peach lemonade...
