My friend and I were looking for a new lunch experience. This chef driven restaurant was just the place! Reservations were easy to make (Though they did have a few tables for walk-ins available.). We were greeted with enthusiasm. The restaurant decor was minimalistic, which I believe allows for attention to details and cleanliness. Our booth had upholstered high back seating, which was not fixed to the floor so it would accommodate body type. The wait-staff is very attentive. Nallely was both personal and professional. She took exceptional care of us. Our adult beverages were called Fairly Odd (melon cocktail)and A House Without a Key (tropical cocktail). We did not order an appetizer, but we heard they were amazing. We both ordered the Daily Trio. The soup of the day was potato and asparagus. It was silky, smooth, very warm, and perfect for a rainy day. The sandwich was a ham and cheese with arugula on ciabatta bread. Taste was fresh and filling. Lastly, there was a spring green salad with strawberries, slivered almonds, and the balsamic vinaigrette. The chef surprised us with a sharing-sized slice of Tre Leches Cake, topped by a very light and flavorful, whipped topping, with perfectly right berries on the side. My friend commented that she does not usually like this type of cake because it is often drowned in liquid, but she said the preparation was perfect. The cake still had texture and the flavor was not too sweet. We highly recommend “Seed”! Interesting fact… The restaurant does not have a freezer. The chef prefers to serve fresh ingredients that are local.

Seed Kitchen and Bar has been around East Cobb for a long time. This says a lot because restaurants come and go here very quickly, even chain restaurants don't make it for too long in this area. Seed has a great menu, which I will post the current one in the images of my review below. They also have fantastic cocktails with an unusual twist and a very nice wine list. I will be honest I don't ask for or want a menu when I go in because there's only one item on the menu that I get, and that's the Asian fish sandwich. My wife and I cook quite a bit and so when we go out to eat we like to get things that we typically won't make it home. This sandwich is one of those. They have many seasonal cocktails to choose from, as well as your traditional favorites. Their seasonal cocktails have homemade syrups and herbs that complement the liquor that is used in that particular drink. During our most recent visit, our server Nallely had a great knowledge of both the drink menu and food menu. She was very attentive without being overbearing and had a phenomenal personality for the restaurant business. If you're looking for a tasty and unique menu to dine from, then Seed Kitchen and Bar will not disappoint.

Is this place worth the hyped?! I’d say no. They definitely have some standouts on the menu, from the Schnitzel to the Korean Short Rib, to the the Fritters, but they were not stars. As I way value against flavor profile, these dishes were way overpriced and over cooked. Both the short rib and the Schnitzel were dry even though that aspect was trying to hide behind the mashed potatoes or the mustard sauce. That was disappointing especially considering the price point. I could have heated up a frozen schnitzel from Costco and had a pretty similar tasted and texture. Now if there is one absolute stunner on the menu, it is their Tres Leches cake. Oh my gosh! Somehow they’ve mastered one of the great Latin American desserts. It was soaked in cream and milk yet somehow the cake itself was firmer in texture yet still permeated with that wonderful creamy sauce. It was accompanied by some fresh berries. It was the winner! Now the restaurant is fine with its open air design yet we were stuffed with our family in some side room around a junky corner with some tacky decorations. We did not enjoy that part. I’m sure the wine bar is good, but the full restaurant experience is not worth it.

We've been dining at Seed for years and had always had positive experiences- until last night! We were seated in a semi private room with just a sheer curtain between a table of 16 and our table of four. The noise was unbearable. We had to scream to hear each other. If you're going to have a room divider, why not make it of sturdier material, so as to block some of the noise? Our portion of the room was really cold, and we were told that they had to keep the thermostat low and keep the sheer partially opened because it was warm in the other part of the room. Poor ventilation planning.

When out server delivered our drinks, she proceeded to spill an entire glass of wine on my husband, glass shattering all about. She was very apologetic and I'm sure felt terrible about it. The manager came in and at first offered to bring a manager's shirt for my husband (his was soaked with wine). He then said he didn't have any, and I suggested one of us getting something from Kohl's across the street. He said nothing and no one offered to do anything else (pants were soaked and stained as well), except to pay for dry cleaning. They cleaned up a bit, but we had to ask them to wipe the table and chairs, which had gotten sticky. We also had to later request silverware and napkins, as ours were used to clean up. Certainly, we shouldn't have had to ask!

I had ordered tequila with a splash of cranberry and lime. The bartender or server clearly added water, as the glass was almost full and I couldn't even taste the tequila. Service then became VERY SLOW, as the server was also taking care of the large party. FINALLY we were able to order. she then brought in four plates for the oysters we'd ordered and placed them at the end of the table. She came back 20 minutes later, prior to bringing the oysters, and said, "You don't want these plates? If you're not going to use them for the oysters, I'll take them away." We couldn't believe we were being scolded for not distributing the plates!

The manager did come back in and asked if we were okay and without going into detail, we let him know that the service had been poor.

The oysters were very good, as was the shrimp appetizer and the salad. The short ribs were tasteless, the trout was just okay, the cod was fair, as was the vegetable plate. The chocolate dessert was also fair.

When the check was brought we were surprised to see that the only thing that was taken off the bill was the one glass of wine and corkage fee for the bottle we brought. Given that the manager knew of the poor service and was obviously aware of the spilled wine and my husband dining in wet clothes within a cold room, we expected more than one glass of wine. Too bad. We will...

When The Seed Kitchen and Bar opened, it was the best place in East Cobb to dine. The staff, the service, the atmosphere, and the food were always excellent. We would always go there on special ocassions (Birthday, Anniversary, etc.). I was just that kind of place!!! But now, it seems as if The Seed has become a money hungry establishment who have lowered their standards quite a bit. So here is the story. I made a reservation on the Open Table app a month ahead of time for this very special occasion (the 28th Wedding Anniversary). After making the reservation, I never received a confirmation from the app, email, or on my messages app. So, I called the restaurant the next day and verbally communicated for a reservation at 6:30 pm. I asked if there was another reservation in my name and she confirmed there was one. I asked if they could delete one. I am not sure if the communication between Open Table and the restaurant are up to par. The next day or two, I received a text asking me to give the names of the people for my reservation. The link sent me to the Open table app, but unfortunately, there was no where on the app to add my wife's name. So, I called the restaurant again and gave them the information. So, the big day arrived and we were so excited to go dine at The Seed! We got dressed up and ready for a nice occasion. We arrived at the restaurant exactly at 6:30. The restaurant was packed and very loud. I told the hostess who we were and our reservation time. She said that we would have to wait, but your table is not ready. I asked her how long would be the wait and she replied that the people are eating their desserts and it wouldn't be too long. She never welcomed us nor mentioned our anniversary. While we were waiting ( at least 10 minutes), I noticed an open table for two that was ready for patrons. I asked the hostess why we couldn't be seated at that table and she replied that table was reserved for the 7:00 reservation. I about blew my top!!!!! Why in the world would we have to wait for a table to open up when there was already one open!! Evidently, the hostess was new or just plain stupid, but she stated that was what the computer was telling here. She asked me if I wanted to talk to the manager. I said yes! So she went to go find him. During that time, my wife told me that the mood for this special occasion was ruined, so we left!

The Seed shouldn't reserve any stars for this review, but I guess I have to give one to make a review.

Thank you The Seed Kitchen and Bar!!! You just made our naughty list and we will just have to find another special place for our...

I was hoping our first Valentine's dinner together would be memorable, and unfortunately it was. I made reservations at Seed Kitchen & Bar a week in advance through OpenTable (making sure to add in "it's our first Valentine's together" in the notes) & I chose the Sunday before (2/12/17) hoping we'd have a relaxed staff.

We had no problem making reservations & someone from Seed called the Friday before to confirm our reservation. We also made sure to read the restaurant's website menu & several Yelp reviews to get excited for our experience. We had high expectations as most reviewers & articles we read had very good things to say about Seed.

Seed is tucked away in the corner of a shopping center & parking was no hassle. We walked in a few minutes early for our reservation. We waited at the hostess stand & when she finally showed up, the hostess was not welcoming. She had no greeting for us. I said, "Hello, we have a reservation", then we were seated beside the door although there were plenty of open seats in secluded areas. She didn't ask for extra information. The traffic coming in & out was loud, there was no privacy. Our waiter was very kind so we asked to move. We were ultimately moved to a table directly behind the bar pick up area & in front of the entrance to the restroom. Not wanting to be more of a hassle, we decided not to complain. Well, we didn't have a chance because we were not asked if the table was okay. I watched every person come in & out of the bathroom & he saw every server pick up drink orders. It was very distracting. Our wait staff was excellent. The first waiter was very nice. He moved our table without any attitude. I think his name was David & he was very informative. The second waiter was also very helpful.

Overall, I usually don't write bad reviews (& it pains me writing this) but this was a huge disappointment especially when other reviews are considered. We ended up making the best of the situation, however we won't be returning or suggesting this restaurant to other people.

Food: White Corn Grit Fritters: We didn't think they were that special. House White wine: our waiter didn't know the name only that it was "Australian" Georges Bank Sea Scallops with butternut squash-parmesan risotto, apple & pancetta: Overall very good Bay of Fundy Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes, melted leeks & truffle vinaigrette: Over fried Salmon in my BF's opinion. I...
