As a long time takeover customer @ Taste of China (TOC), Bemiss Rd. Saturday, 11/08/25 my wife & I agreed to once again select TOC for our quick and USUALLY delicious Chinese dish. We both ordered platters, but with different meat. It comes with the same yellow rice (fried rice?). The meal was terrible tasting to both of us. Something was really wrong with the flavors of both dishes. Disgusting taste… We both nibbled on the meats, hers tyso chicken, mine a spicy beef dish. When we couldn’t stand anymore, I called TOC and told of the nasty flavor. Old oil or scorched wok. The female gringo that answers the phone past on our complaint to the Chinese female. I was told: “Bring the food back and you get money back”. I told we ate most of the meat and left the rice and already tossed the plates. You would have thought that TOC would have gotten my number and offered some type of future compensation. NOPE I guess specializing in only takeout allows you to NOT remember or feel responsible to compensate returning customers when utilizing, maybe expired food products. The odds are with TOC that anyone will return nasty food. No connection to your customers. I sure TOC won’t read this. My guess is that they’re service, quality and cooking burnout just might be...
Read moreI ordered my food over the phone. I ordered a sweet and sour chicken I asked for a kids meal with it or the smallest order they had and the I ordered Mongolian chicken with lo mein noodles and then cream cheese wan tons. My total was $30.89 which I thought was pretty high but I paid but then I checked my food my lo mein noodles had tons of onions and peppers in them I asked kindly could he take them out but the man worker at taste of china said no he would not this is how they came. So I left when I got home the Mongolian chicken and lo mein noodles tasted so bad I can't even eat them . I was able to eat some of my grandmas sweet and sour chicken but it still was not edible for her. The only thing I liked and could eat was the cream cheese wan tons. The best Chinese restaurant around is always the Chinese restaurant in the Valdosta colonial Mall always great service better prices and way better Chinese food. Taste of china was horrible I'm to scared of the lady that took my order over the phone or the man to ask for my money back I'll just say I learned my lesson and will not be ever returning to taste...
Read moreI love their chicken rice soup and steamed dumplings. My husband loves their pepper chicken and honey chicken. Their rice isn't our favorite, so we don't usually get it and if they give it to us we don't usually eat it. I don't care for their beef and broccoli or general tso's chicken (which are my go-to Chinese meals), but their shrimp with lobster sauce is really good. They consistently get our order right when we call and place an order over the phone, and it's always ready within 15 minutes of our phone call. They've even called me back a couple of times I was running late to confirm I was still going to stop by and...
