My son just went through the Culinary apprenticeship program. I definitely would not recommend this program to anyone. It's presented to the student that they will get hands on training and be prepared to work in the culinary industry. Not true AT ALL, the students are basically providing free labor at the restaurants that they go to for their rotation. For this program to be $8900 it's definitely is a Scam. From the information my son gave me, the chefs in these so called apprenticeship, did not have the time to train him on anything. All he did at his three rotations was chop vegetables. Basically just doing prep work at all off his rotations. Anyone can do that. He didn't receive any specialized training or get any feedback during his apprenticeship. Not to mention the amount of driving time it took to get to the rotation site. He was driving 1- 2 hrs one way to the restaurants where her trained. I'm the class room training he learned a few basic cooking techniques, but nothing that he couldn't have learned on YouTube for free. If you have some basic cooking skills before going into this program, that's what you'll leave with at the end of the program, along with $8900...
Read moreI just can't say enough about the quality educational opportunities available at the College of Continuing and Professional Education! I enrolled in their Social Media Marketing course in 2016 to increase my marketing skills. As a mom with a busy family, I wondered if I really had the time to go back to school. On the first night of class, I realized that I had made the right decision. From then on, I looked forward to attending every class! The content was very relevant and the instructor is definitely a social media expert.
The certificate I earned and the skills I gained from the course have been invaluable. I saw an immediate increase in the interest employers had in my resume, and after several interviews, I accepted a position. Today I am working in a job I love and also help several nonprofits build their social presence.
In today's job market, we all need to continuously learn new skills if we want to keep up with changing industries. The College of Continuing and Professional Education will always be my go to resource when it's time to increase my...
Read moreI completed the Paralegal Certificate Program in December 2017. I originally earned my B.A. as a traditional college student, spent a number of years working, then took off more than a decade to raise my children. With both kids well on their way to adulthood, I went back to school last year and enrolled in the program at KSU. Going back to school was a huge challenge, but I enjoyed every minute of it! In addition to learning so many useful skills in the legal world, the program did an awesome job of continually connecting students with internship and job opportunities. I took advantage of this networking and landed a job as a Paralegal for a Criminal Defense Attorney in Marietta. Great way to launch the next chapter in my life! My full-time salary resulted in a 100% ROI of my KSU tuition within the first couple of months. Worth every...
