Googled brunch Near me and this was the first place that popped up . Reviews were good , pictures were nice so I decided I’d take my wife on a date . We were Greeted after a few minutes , hostess were nice . Once our server came he seemed nice a little rushed , We ordered a mimosa wait 10-15 minutes for the craft yet a table of six right behind us got drinks and food before us . My wife received her entree I received my sides no entree . After several minutes I told our sever that I had not received my meal .he apologized and went to get it . The shrimp in grits I ordered as I was told just came out yet it was cold and covered in salt. The server asked how I was enjoying the meal and I explained it was too salty for me. He did apologize and asked me if I wanted anything else I decline . Requested the bill I never thought he would charge me for the meal I took one bite out of but he did . And that’s fine it is what it is . Working in the hospitality field and owing small business myself . I’d never charge a customer for something they didn’t eat nor liked . My experience we were treated less important. why I don’t know . (How I felt ) Our server was nice yes but didn’t show equal customer service . Tables around were asked if they needed anything, yet we had to ask , they were told about dessert options we were not . I’m leaving this review because I believe people should be treated equally and you should never judge someone without knowing them . We won’t return to this place of business but it was nice I’d just wish we received the customer service as everyone around us . I absolutely loved dining here! The atmosphere is beautiful! I loved the decor and overall style of the restaurant. They even have a little area tucked off that can be closed off the main dining area for private events! It would be perfect for a dinner birthday party, a wedding rehearsal dinner party, an anniversary dinner party, or even just a semi large group reservation. The bar looked immaculate and impressive. Next time I eat here, I will definitely get myself a drink! They look like they may serve really good drinks. Unfortunately, I'm not a middle of the day type of drinker. I had the shrimp and grits, and let me tell you... it was the best shrimp and grits I had in a long time, hands down! My husband was even digging in my plate, and he usually doesn't eat grits. However, he said these grits were not like any grits he had eaten. They are creamy, smooth, and seasoned perfectly. They are not gritty at all, and the fact that I did not have to add a pinch of salt, pepper, or butter speaks volumes! It was perfect exactly as it was with nothing added or removed. I became super excited when our waitress informed us that they are opening up a location in Richmond Hill!! I'm just praying the shrimp and grits taste exactly the same! My son has raved about 5 Spot since he went to the mid town location so when I had the chance to try the Sandfly location I jumped on it. We went in before the dinner rush and were seated pretty quickly, we waited for longer than expected for someone to come to the table though. We ordered drinks and apps which came out fresh and hot. I ordered the brussels sprouts and they were good but could have been better. There were a bunch of them that were still whole and with that they weren't cooked through so they were pretty tough. If they would have all been cut to around the same size(roughly of course) that would have been an amazing dish. My friend got the cheese puffs, the flavors were amazing but just wished there were more of them. For my entrée I ordered the "Spicy Jalapeno Burger" that had a red chili next to the name so I was expecting some spice. In the description it said it came with jalapeno pepper jelly, the jelly part was there but I tasted no jalapeno at all. There was no spice anywhere in the burger at all. With that being said the burger was delicious, it came out exactly as I ordered it and the size was ample for anyone. My friend ordered the Chicken Bacon Gouda Wrap and he said it was delicious. The size was perfect for a big eater or you could take half with you for a second meal. We both enjoyed our meals but both agree that it could have been a touch better.
