Really, really wish I could give this place five stars across the board. Alas, I cannot. I was visiting, but have been to Savannah a number of times, and have had a wide range of BBQ experiences over the past 20 years: from the 55 gallon drum pit on the side of a back road (IYKYK) to corporate garbage and everything in between. I came for lunch, and didn’t have dinner plans, so my idea was… I’ll see how lunch goes, and if it’s good I’ll get ribs and sides to go for dinner. Lunch blew my d!ck off. Their brisket is as good as the fresh cooked heart cut straight out the smoker with some of the most flavorful, beautiful bark I’ve ever had. The chicken - white meat! - was juicy and flavorful throughout and the seasoning on the skin made my toes curl. The potato salad was absurdly good, especially with the mustard sauce. Even the greens were to die for. So yeah, I got ribs to go. ***heartbreak*** The ribs had so much seasoning on them that they were damn near inedible. I threw half the order away they were so damn offensive. Baby, WHAT IS YOU DOIN?! The shift apparently changed mid-lunch, cuz the gal who helped me with my lunch was a 10/10 rockstar, and the poor little blonde girl who tried to help me get my ribs was … not. I would 100% go back for more… but the ribs. No ma’am. No sir. Nuh uh.

Was in the area recently and from the reviews... this looked like exactly what I was looking for. I wanted BBQ and Sandfly BBQ didn't disappoint. Looks like something out of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! The staff was helpful, polite and made great recommendations! I got the 2 meat combo with pulled pork and brisket. Each had some burnt ends which were tasty! For sides I went with potatoe salad and Brunswick stew which was amazing! Everything was spot on! They have 3 sauces to choose from - sweet, spicy and mustard base and I used them all! This was definitely some of the best BBQ I've had in a while. Will be back!

Was really disappointed in this BBQ. I have traveled all over the US and had BBQ in from all over. This place was not a hot. The good: Chicken was juicy, baked beans great and sweet potatoes fires were good. The OK was the Pork and Brisket. Brisket was a little on the dry side. Okra was too greasy and overly salty but still OK. The bad: the ribs were horrible. Probably some of the worst ribs I have had in a while. Very tough. The Mac and Cheese was disgusting, I couldn’t even eat it. Chalky, no flavor, cold, horrible. These reviews really did not match up with our experience.

I hadn't been there for a while , and I was really looking forward to a pulled pork sandwich and sides. I got there at 7:15 pm and was told they have no meats except Brisket, sausage, and ribs. Also , no coke slaw or mac and cheese. I was thinking of thin, tender slices of Brisket and a nice smoked country sausage, like other BBQ places have, Instead, I got a smoked Polish Kielbasa sausage, nothing like the real thing, smoked country sausage, and very disappointing in taste and consistency. Never again! The brisket was all ground up and nothing like a brisket at all. Not enjoyable! I got collard greens, thinking , yeah, all BBQ places do those pretty well, but again, utter disappointment. Bland and flavorless! Since there was no coleslaw or mac and cheese, and I don't like what they happen to call, Baked Beans, I ordered something new off the blackboard, fried yellow peppers. Not a replacement for slaw or mac and cheese at all. I threw away over half of them. So I walked out $ 17 poorer and still hungry, waiting to get back home to make myself a turkey and Swiss sandwich. What a joke of a So-Called BBQ establishment and a rip off. The only good thing about it was, the nice welcome greeting , and well wishes for me to have a good evening from the two nice girls up at the counter. At least two potential groups of customers came in while I was there and walked back out and drove away, finding out that half the menu was not available to them at the present time. Sand fly bbq needs to get it together or else go by the wayside. I am done with them. Never again will I make a Charitable...

We came here bc we heard great things about it but when we got there they were out of everything but chicken and sausage..... and one of the ladies that was working was super rude to us and we heard her be rude to another person as well....we understand there frustration and that its labor day weekend but them running out of food is no body else's fault but theirs....theres no need for them to be rude when asked simple questions that we didnt know the answers 2

Responding to the owners comment below: I understand that but we were told by your employees that you RAN OUT and didnt "sell out" I'm glad you covered the food problem but apparently you didn't read my review very well..... I said that we understood the employees frustration and that it was a holiday so you cant say keep that in mind bc we already did.....but you didnt address was my second problem of your employees poor customer service skills and additudes... there was absolutely no reason for them to have the additude or tone they had when we asked questions and when someone else asked a question...... we are from out of state on VK so how were we supposed to know how you guys run things and how things...
