My boyfriend and I were very excited to come try the Tin Fin and enjoy a Sunday brunch after seeing the menu and good overall rating. Unfortunately, our disappointing experience was enough to make us never want to go back. The food had potential, but it was quite bland. What made the experience even worse was the service. I shouldn’t have to wait for refills on drinks. Having an empty glass for an extended period of time is unacceptable. Especially considering the beverage was a Buy One Get One special, yet we still got charged for the “free” drinks. I had to point out the price to get that fixed. Our used plates were never cleared and were left sitting at the table the entire time. As a former server and restaurant manager, my expectations of service are always high but understanding. However, this experience was one for the books on the worst list. We were asked how the food looked and tasted right as the plates were getting set on the table. I couldn’t even get a taste before being asked. Had they asked us after our first bite, and had they of bothered coming back to the table to ask if we needed anything, they would have known that we were very unhappy with the taste of our meal. I asked for no tomatoes, which is a very simple request, but they somehow got even that wrong. By the time they came back it was to give us the check, and I was just ready to leave. The oysters were not what we expected and we had to do all the work ourselves which isn’t necessarily advertised. I wanted to enjoy my meal but genuinely didn’t. The food was bland. Service was slow.. If I could have returned the meal, I would have and I wish we could get our money back for some items we were not satisfied with. I would have asked for a refund if they would have given us the courtesy to check on us! They weren’t so busy to be moving as slow as they were. I witnessed other tables get more attentive service than ours. I don’t think we will be going back. I’m extremely disappointed with this place. There’s just no...
Read moreI would have given 5 stars almost all the way down, but our most recent experience here was not a very good one. Usually, the food is pretty good here. I love the spud mountain in particular. Their chicken fingers are always awesome. Typically, the service is very good and the atmosphere is very welcoming. That being said, our most recent experience I went in to see if they had a takeout menu and when I first walked in, it took alround 5 minutes for anyone to come around to the front even after pushing the service bell that they have on the counter twice. I should have left sooner, but we've been here before and it's usually pretty good. When the girl finally did come to the front, she was not very polite. Almost like I was interrupting her or bothering her. When I asked her about the takeout menu, she quipped that they did not have any paper ones that there was an online menu that I could look up. I asked about a website and she said, hold on and let me look and see if we have any paper ones, but the writing will be very, very tiny. I said, okay, and she walked to the back and it took her another 2 or 3 minutes before she came back to tell me that they did not have one. It was between lunch and dinner, and the restaurant was pretty empty for the most part. As a matter of fact, there were no patrons at all on the side closest to the door. So to spend 7 or 8 minutes standing in the front waiting for some service. I think was a little bit off and then to be treated very rudely on top of that. I am not sure if this was just an off day or what... Typically I can say that my experience is not quite like this. It may be a minute before I go...
Read moreLet’s get right into it. The appetizer took a long time to come out and we were checked on quite less than others, and they let that be known off the bat. If I am not welcomed please tell me, so I can save my money….so they were a little busy, but not slammed.. as others were getting their stuff pretty fast. The size was quite small when it finally came to the table ..like it was for one person or child… and for the price it just doesn’t make sense. The whole place makes no sense, the plates ordered are pictured …one plate had only one piece of fish.. like what?… for almost $30 before tax 🤯 with cheap fries and weird little little hush puppies. The menu didn’t say anything about 1 piece of fish.. but on certain plates it said the type of fish, and catfish is not mentioned. Next to some plates it just doesn’t say what kind of fish, which also makes no sense. That sauce below the little store bought tasting lump crab cakes is like a mayo taste or some type of mayo base. I don’t know what is happening here at this empty hole in the wall but for the price to be $98 which included one bar drink and no water even though they said yes water is coming it never came .. it is insane and robbery. It is very small, which would not matter if they served proper portions.. after you see the plates you start noticing other stuff at this establishment… and it’s too expensive for the quality and quantity. I am not a cheapskate I travel wide for food, and you guys know it’s about the quality, and quantity… and if that is not a factor.. neither is the price… but I also know when I am being robbed. That’s my time guys see you all in the next review. (😡)...
