Overall the worst Whataburger experience I've ever had, having grown up surrounded by Whataburgers in Texas. We were visiting the outlets when we saw Whataburger and I told my wife she had to try it. We had 5 total in our group, two couples and a single that each had separate transactions, one right after the other for dine-in. When I went to use tap-to-pay, it failed and I was told that it only worked with Apple Pay, which just seems strange these days.
After sitting there for a while, my wife and I finally got our food. We were trying to wait for others to get their food before eating, when someone approached the other couple and said the grilled chicken sandwich they ordered would be a "full wait". We asked what that meant and didn't get a straight answer so we finally asked how many minutes is a full wait...5 minutes was the response. The person asked if they wanted a spicy fried chicken sandwich instead, but they said they would wait. More than 5 minutes passed when they finally got their food. By this point I had eaten all my onion rings only to discover my burger was wrong, but I wasn't willing to see how long it would take them to fix it.
It had now been15 minutes since ordering, and our single in the group still hadn't gotten his order of a spicy chicken sandwich, the replacement meal they offered the other couple earlier. So he went to ask where it was...they said it was cooking. At 20 minutes, everyone else was finishing up so he decided to just go cancel his order. A few minutes later he walked back with cash, even though he had paid with a card...that also made no sense.
This was definitely not the way we expected the visit to go when Whataburger is usually on top of their game, especially at 3:40 in the afternoon when there wasn't even a rush. We won't be returning to this...
Read moreI am not a complainer. This is my first time ever truly complaining about service and management. Ordered online at 3:50-4:00pm. Order was supposed to be picked up at 4:07. I have understood that going here usually causes a 15 minute wait. Today was a 50+ minute wait. I arrived on time and it is now me getting home at 5:05 pm (mind you i live 2 minutes away). I can take the loss for going through the drive through but for the people who ordered in front of me? Still having to wait as long as I had? At a fast food restaurant? I would have rather just gone to Olive Garden bc I would have probably been full and on my way out with leftovers, that were still hot. I wonât speak ill of the service workers, I myself work in the service industry, busting their behinds because I am sure they are short staffed and donât get paid enough as it is. However, management, instead of being lazy and in your office trying to avoid duties such as, I donât know, lending a helping hand to the poor workers trying to provide services to a huge influx of customers⊠maybe just exercise yourself to the line to help the poor workers out. And maybe you wonât get more poor reviews like the ones already on here. It always starts with leadership when it comes to crappy cohesion and laziness in the workplace. Whatever system management works under needs a big wake up call to remind them they are not special, they are supposed to be a team. I digress. Whataburger, thank you for my almost hour wait, and my âmade ready and freshâ cold food. Good luck with your...
Read moreWe had a simple order of 4 large fries, a chocolate shake, and a Dr Pepper shake (order 2003758). This was a to go order so I asked that the shakes were not brought out early so 5 min later I got the shakes and then another 7.5 minutes (I timed it) I got the fries. Once I got home the fires tasted like they had been sitting for a long time. We have had them before, but this time there was a different taste. I even reheated them in an air fryer for a few minutes making hot old tasting fries. Then there are the expensive shakes (large) that tasted like a combination of chocolate and Dr Pepper. This is not a good combo at all. Not one of us would drink more than 2 sips. I called back to store and was told that the shakes come out of the same nozzle so this happens sometimes. I asked what we could do about it and the guy said since it was a to go order they do nothing. I do NOT remember seeing a warning or sign while ordering saying the shake may be mixed and that you will want to try it before you leave. After he explained itâs Whataburgerâs policy to do nothing I asked that they know this is a known quantity control issue and that they (Whataburger) does not care to fix the issue or care about customer satisfaction. His response was the equivalent of a shoulder shrug and indifference. At least we know not to use Whataburger again for our family and I will pass it along to family and friends to stay away. Why would anyone want to waste there time eating at a place that does not...
