I ordered from the drive thru and got to the light. As reached for a fry immediately i noticed that they were dark and not fresh. In addition to to that, also had a fiber or thread on them like from a shedding shirt. I came into the restaurant and explained the problem. Which one of the sweet employees complimented on how nice and polite I was. I explained it's not your fault. Just wanted fresh food more than anything.
The manager ( I assume ) took the food and remade it. When I receive the food back the fries were still dark and very well done. I replied their still dark ( or well done) she replied through the line window. That the fries were freshly made and hot and that she couldn't help the color.
I just asked for a refund and was granted one with no gestured to even try to accommodate anything.
Was the staff rude or anything like that? Absolutely not ... very nice staff!!! HOWEVER... A COMPLAINT ABOUT SOMETHING IN YOUR FOOD AND/OR UNFRESH FOOD. SHOULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED MORE APOLOGETICALLY AND EVEN A COURTESY OR SOMETHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXTENDED BY THE MANAGER IN MY OPINION.
I AM NEVER ONE TO LOOK FOR FREE FOOD... OR DISPLAY IGNORANCE FOR A MISTAKE OR BAD SERVICE. AS MOST DO AND OFTEN GET RESPECT AND MORE. SO I UNDERSTAND!!!!
BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HUGE!!! THIS IS A BRAND NEW STORE!!! NOT A GOOD LOOK!!! WILL PROBABLY NEVER EVER RETURN OR RECOMMEND!!!

So much that family from Chicago, back for a visit, asked to pickup Zaxby's Chicken on the way home from the airport, for supper. (There isn't a Zaxby's anywhere near them in Chicago 'burbs.) So we drove through the Delk Road location and picked up $45+ of wings, fingers, fries, and even fried pickles. We neglected to sit in the parking lot and go through the bags, inventorying our order. When we got home there were no sauces, not even the 4 ranches we paid extra for. Even more disappointing the 10 wings with Tongue Torch sauce were plain - no sauce. Our feast was delayed while Dad ran to the nearby grocery store and bought ranch dressing and Buffalo sauce. Not exactly the way we had hoped to start the weekend with our out of town family. Read moreI’ve been visiting this Zaxby’s for a little over a year and let me say do yourself a favor and head to the Chick-fil-A down the street or find a different Zaxby’s, this one will mess your order up 100% of the time. I used to work at a Zaxby’s as a cook, and it is evident they have a very forgetful staff. If you want your fries seasoned AT ALL, you have to ask for extra seasoning, even then you will still get unseasoned fries 50% of the time. They constantly forget to put sauces in that you have asked for, I’ve been told there are straws in the bag only to find no straws numerous times, and almost every time they mess up the sequence of drive-thru orders and when I tell them what I had ordered they look confused every time.
