The last 2 times I went here, they managed to totally screw up the orders. I went in tonight and ordered 2 of the Chicken Boss Burritos and 3 of the Meat and Potato Burritos, all beef, but they put the 3 Meat and Potato Burritos in the system as if I had said, "No lettuce, no tomato, no sour cream and no nacho cheese sauce" . I NEVER told them to not put that stuff in the burritos!
And the previous time that I went there, I got a couple of their 6-packs & a pounds, and the tacos had some kind of blue stuff on the outside of the shells. When we called in that night to complain, we were told that the blue stuff was the CLEANING compound that they use to clean the taco racks! However when we called to complain tonight, we were told that they don't clean the taco racks! I'm not certain if they are trying to poison people by getting cleaning compound on the food, or by not cleaning the taco racks!
In any case, I will NEVER go back to the Gering Taco John's, and the Scotts Bluff County Health Department will most definitely here about this!
The Gering Taco John's doesn't even deserve the one star that I gave it in...
Read moreVery disappointed in the service during our visit, got there around 8pm there was only one person inside eating, placed our order, paid, sat down at a table and waited. 10 minutes later two women came in and ordered and sat down, a few minutes later they got their food, waited a few minutes walked up to the counter, they asked me what I needed and I said yeah I'd like my food, they had no idea what I was talking about and they were putting containers away. So one of the girls asked what we had I told them and I guess they were kinda trying to get it made, my boyfriend was annoyed by this time as it had been 20 minutes or more since we had ordered and it didn't look like they even cared, so we asked for our money back to which a girl asked for our receipt which my boyfriend had just given to a boy with a headset on and he crumpled it up and threw it in the trash can. Long story short I don't recommend this particular...

Back then they were tiny "walk-in and order" establishments with no indoor seating, little 12' by 30' shacks. Decades later I've been noticing how cautious we need to be when visiting unfamiliar Taco Johns. Not all are, let's say, "up to snuff" regarding friendliness and cleanliness. THIS ONE IS A GOOD ONE! It's been my favorite Taco Johns now for many years, whether choosing to eat inside -or- making use of their efficient drive-up window. Good management and decent employees here always make this restaurant a good experience and find me wanting to return in the future. Quite...
