I have always liked Barro's Pizza, considered it my favorite pizza place in the valley. I order pretty regularly and always have my pizzas delivered. Never had any problems....until today!
Today I ordered a pizza and was told that it would be delivered in 45 minutes to an hour - no problem. An hour and 15 minutes goes by and no pizza. I call Barro's to find out the status and the girl who answered the phone, Audrey, says that our pizza will be there shortly. A few minutes later Audrey calls me back (caller ID said Barro's) to say the driver had already been to our house and tried to deliver our pizza but we never came to the door. I asked if he rang the doorbell. She claims he knocked and rang the door bell - neither of which he could have done as our doorbell is pretty loud and it is working. I was sitting pretty close to the door and no one knocked. Audrey insisted this guy "did everything he could" to deliver our pizza and that he tried to call us as well. We did get a call from a number we didn't recognize, but we generally don't pick up unknown calls because of solicitation and sales calls we get bombarded with.
I was a bit frustrated at this point, because no doubt our pizzas are now cold and Audrey asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. I said yes, and Nick got on the phone. I told him what the problem was and that I'd ordered numerous times from Barro's, and never had anything like this happen. I told him the driver did not knock nor ring the bell. His reply was, "His (the driver's) knuckles look pretty red from knocking to me!" Excuse me? That's how you address a customer concern? With a flippant, non-caring attitude? Wow! Nick then tells me that his driver knocked (until his knuckles were red), rang the door bell, and went around the back of our house. Really? And with two people sitting inside were totally oblivious to this?
Nick's attitude was so bad that I told him to just cancel the order, I didn't want it. His bad attitude continued with some comment of "Whatever, OK, that's fine". Unbelievable the horrible customer service and attitude.
About now the driver has shown up trying to play innocent, and he can't understand why we don't want a pizza from a business that does not value its customers and delivers a late, cold pizza.
I've been ordering pizza from Barro's since I moved to the valley 20 years ago. After this incident,...
Read morePlaced an order for 2 large 1 topping pizzas. We were given a 60 minute wait time. Understandable. It’s a Friday night at dinner time. When we arrived to pick up our food, the restaurant had fewer than half of its tables occupied and they were already putting away the patio furniture. No biggie. We’re just here for pick up. They seemed confused as to why were there and then claimed they didn’t receive our ticket. We showed them our receipt with their address on it and they mostly stood around awkwardly unsure of what to do. Eventually they said they’d make it for us and that it would be 10 minutes. We understand. Things happen. The online order probably got printed and lost. And 10 minutes seemed a little too fast to be true, but worth the wait. As the next 35 minutes went by, several other online orders were filled. We were then accompanied by a gentlemen who’s order they also lost. They told him that they’d accommodate him by giving him the food and refunding him. He waited less than 8 minutes before he got a pizza and some other box. 10 more minutes passed before we were told “here’s your pizza have a good night” as they set two boxes on the counter. We did the stupid thing and assumed everything was Gucci. Of course, to our dismay, we learned that these large 1 topping pizzas were actually 2 large NO-topping pizzas.
We’re tired. We’re hangry. We waited. We trusted. And ultimately we didn’t get what we asked for and we weren’t offered any kind of condolence or compensation. Weirdly, I think I’m going to ask management or corporate or whoever has it within their power to give this staff pay increases so they can care more...
Read moreWell let's start out by saying Barro's has pretty good Pizza and wings. However they get an " F" in service, I don't think it's all the young kids fault they have working there. When things are out of control and nobody knows what they are doing and they don't know what to do next, I blame the Management. Clearly they have no control and have obviously have not trained or are not supervising their employees. I phoned in a take out order very simple 24 wings, I showed up about 25 minuets later only to discover they had not even started on them. I was not the only person who was getting poor service. There were at least 6 other parties waiting for their orders also, the 3 little girls up front had no idea of what they were doing or how to get things done in order. I waited for about 15 minuets and they brought my order out and set it on the counter, only to have these little girls run back and forth never looking at it or realizing it was ready. I got my order and not surprisingly faster than people who were there before me ( Sucks to be them ). MANAGEMENT pull your heads out of your butts !!!!! this is your fault, your poor training and lack of supervision. OWNERS, wake up ! this is your business that these people are destroying and driving away your customers and your profits. Mama Barro is rolling over in her grave because she never would have treated her customers this way ! I remember when Barro's first started back in the 80's, Good Pizza and great service. Angelina would be disappointed in what is going on, you should be ashamed to let...
