I love Rosie's and it's California style Mexican food! I usually hit them on Tuesdays for Taco Tuesday and they never disappoint! The girl behind the counter, I think her name is Jasmine, is always attentive and efficient. She makes me laugh with her Energizer bunny attitude and service! I only wish their queso had a little spice to it, but I just cut up the jalapeno and mix it in! Taco Tuesday special pictured below, comes with a drink, $7.99.
Updated review, two days later, lunch.
I don't usually give less than perfect reviews, but I can't seem to find a contact for corporate. I gave a rave review a couple days ago for Taco Tuesday and Jasmine. Today, I can understand all the negative reviews about service. I usually come in the evening and will never come for lunch again.
I called before coming to the restaurant to ask what kind of fish is in the fish taco. The girl seemed unsure but said flounder. Because of her hesitation, I asked her if she would please make sure it wasn't tilapia. She then told me tilapia and flounder are the same. I asked if she could please double check because I don't eat tilapia. She hung up on me. I tried to call back but she didn't answer. I pulled into a parking lot and looked it up on the website, and it said flounder. Yay, I thought.
Despite her unprofessionalism on the phone, I still stopped by for a fish taco combo. I think the taco had potential but was overcooked, or maybe the fish had just been sitting and dried out.
As I watched her interactions with three people in front of me and two people after me, she never once said thank you, welcome, how was your day? Nothing. When she wasn't actively taking an order, she was on her cell phone. Not totally a big deal, but she could have wiped down the cheese and spilled food on the counter or dirty tables, or maybe wiped down the beverage station, or maybe even taken the dirty trays from the people that were sitting there having a business lunch.
I was appalled a couple days ago when I saw the reviews about rude service here. I've always had Jasmine take care of me and there's never been an attitude problem. I totally get the reviews today, sadly.
I'm sorry if this is employee is part of the Rosie's familia and it sickens me to write a negative review. My thought is that if you don't know it's broken, you can't fix it. Normally I would call and talk to a manager but I looked for a contact number for corporate and did not find one.
I ate at Cotija in San Diego for more than 20 years, and now I eat at Rosie's at least once a week. This level of service...
Read moreThis message is for the owners because I didn’t get a chance to talk to you. I didn’t want to put a review online because I know that these are the lifeblood of a business. But I didn’t get a chance to talk to you and the employee that I worked with seemed to be bending the story to not get in trouble.
I went through the drive-through. The speaker wasn’t working very well and it was hard to hear me and it was also hard to hear the person on the other line. The first girl that attempted to take my order wasn’t able to. She barely could hear me and I could barely hear her. Soon after I hear a new voice come on. Much more confident and seasoned. I soon realized the first girl was training and the second girl was the shift lead that took my order. I found out after her name was Isabella. I asked for 8 street tacos and I got full-size ones and was charged for full size ones. I didn’t realize this till I got home 15-20 minutes away. This was a simple mistake one that I thought would be an easy fix. So I called and ask them if they wouldn’t mind just refunding me a partial amount because there was no way I was gonna be able to eat all of the food that they gave me and it wasn’t what I ordered. I thought they would want to do the right thing.
However, when I called I could tell it was the young woman who was new working there. She didn’t know what to do so she handed her phone to the head supervisor who’s name is Isabella. I explained the situation, and asked if she wouldn’t mind giving me a partial refund. Not the full amount just the difference between what they gave me and what I ordered.
I was told that they needed to see the food I offered to send pictures. Then she said I needed to bring the food back to them and then they would refund my money. I explained I’m 15 minutes away. Would you please allow me to do it on the phone? She said nope.
I asked to speak to the owner or manager. She said they aren’t here.
Ok, so I brought the food back. Now why am I writing a review that seems so angry. It’s because I am! She wasted my time. I feel so incredibly disrespected and then on top of that as I was walking out the same Isabella had the audacity to tell me,” sorry the girl is new.” Looking at the new girl. When she wasn’t the one who even took my order!!! Isabella was the one I worked with the entire time! If I had to guess the story to the owners was different. I am happy to take this down. I did get a refund but I want to know that the owners saw this message and I want to know that my side of the...
Read moreArizona quick service Mexican - this type of restaurant really exists for carne asada fries, and similar, half authentic, home grown meals.
I’ll take this over los favoritos and definitely over Filiberto’s. Can’t name a better quality/dollar ratio off the top of my head for carne asada fries. Can’t speak for anything else, and won’t bother trying anything else. Cheap rice for the kiddo.
Better value proposition, but also higher quality meat in general, more fully loaded carne asada fries ( I haven’t brought out the scale but I haven’t felt the need to order extra fries like I would at similar establishments.)
Could benefit from cleaning the outside. There’s been a concrete bag laying juxtaposed to the drive through for weeks between my first two visits. These kind of things show lack of care/passion by owners and workers. Gilbert is generally a well manicured city, and this corner of the world sits between two pretty rough parts of Mesa and Chandler when traveling north/south. This corner is one of the bright spots, but has to be held to the highest standard when considering the east/west route.
Unfortunate miss for what I’d consider a higher tier establishment. With strong competition for QSR Mexican, we’d be better off upgrading the fili-bs of the world to something more like Rosie’s, without having to pay the price associated with quality of...
